About the Role

We're looking for an organized, detail-oriented person to take ownership of the firm's day-to-day finances and client billing. This full-time position is based in our main Salina office and reports directly to our Office Manager. You'll handle bookkeeping, financial management, and billing for all five offices. As the firm grows, this role will grow with it.

Financial Responsibilities

• Pay vendor bills and firm expenses

• Maintain the firm's books in QuickBooks, including entries, reconciliations, and month-end close

• Reconcile trust and IOLTA accounts in compliance with Kansas trust accounting rules

• Process payroll and handle payroll and other tax filings

• Work with our outside CPA on year-end and tax preparation

• Prepare financial reports for the Office Manager and firm leadership

Billing and Accounts Receivable

• Prepare, review, and send client invoices through Clio

• Post client payments and keep billing records accurate

• Track client retainer balances and flag when replenishment is needed

• Monitor accounts receivable and prepare regular AR reports

What We're Looking For

• Bookkeeping or accounting training, financial experience, or an associate or bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field

• Experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting software, plus Microsoft Excel and Word

• Working knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and account reconciliation

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy

• Good organization and the ability to manage recurring deadlines

• Clear communication skills for working with attorneys, staff, and clients

• Reliability, integrity, and discretion with confidential financial and client information

No law firm experience? No problem. We'll train you on Clio, legal billing, and trust accounting. If you have a solid bookkeeping or finance background, we want to hear from you.
