Tax Services Manager Jobs in Kansas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a tax services manager in Kansas?
You become a tax services manager in Kansas by first earning a CPA license through the Kansas Board of Accountancy, which requires passing all four sections of the Uniform CPA Exam and meeting the education and experience requirements set by the board. Most hiring managers expect a bachelor's degree in accounting and several years of public accounting or corporate tax experience before promotion to a management role. Specializing in corporate tax, SALT, or partnership taxation strengthens your candidacy significantly.
How much do tax services managers make in Kansas?
Tax services managers in Kansas earn a median of about $79,000 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $52,960 for the lowest 10% to over $129,800 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire tax services managers in Kansas?
Kansas tax services manager roles are posted by Intuit, Koch, and Performance Contracting and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Kansas's concentration of large manufacturing, agriculture, and energy companies creates steady in-house tax management demand alongside the regional offices of national public accounting firms.
Which Kansas cities have the most tax services manager jobs?
Topeka, Overland Park, and Wichita have the most tax services manager openings in Kansas. Wichita leads because of its aerospace and manufacturing base, which generates significant corporate tax compliance needs, while Kansas City draws openings from its cross-border financial and professional services sector, and Topeka sees demand from state government contractors and regulated industries headquartered near the capital.
Are there remote tax services manager jobs in Kansas?
Yes, and more than most fields, since tax services management is primarily analytical and documentation-driven work that translates well to remote settings. About 28% of tax services manager openings tied to Kansas are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting broader trends in accounting and professional services. Compliance review, tax research, and client advisory work are the functions most commonly performed fully remote.
How can I get hired as a tax services manager in Kansas with little or no experience?
The most realistic path is to enter as a tax associate or staff accountant at a regional public accounting firm in Wichita or Kansas City and work toward promotion from within. Large Kansas employers like KPMG's Wichita practice and regional firms such as Adams Brown offer structured paths where associates move into senior and then manager roles over time. Passing the CPA exam early and developing a specialty in corporate or SALT tax accelerates that progression more than any other single step.
Where can I find and apply to tax services manager jobs in Kansas?
You can find and apply to tax services manager jobs in Kansas on Migrate Mate, which lists current Kansas openings across Wichita, Kansas City, Topeka, and other markets. Find the roles that fit your experience and specialty, then apply directly to each one.
