Integration Engineer Jobs in North Carolina: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a integration engineer in North Carolina?
Most integration engineer roles in North Carolina require a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, systems engineering, or computer science from an accredited program. Unlike licensed professional engineering roles, integration engineering does not require a state-issued license from the North Carolina State Board of Examiners for Engineers and Surveyors for most positions, though earning a vendor certification in platforms like MuleSoft or Siemens PCS 7 substantially strengthens a candidate's profile with North Carolina employers.
How much do integration engineers make in North Carolina?
Integration engineers in North Carolina earn a median of about $112,450 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $63,130 for the lowest 10% to over $173,370 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire integration engineers in North Carolina?
Employers hiring integration engineers in North Carolina right now include Scout Motors, North Carolina State University, and SAS, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. North Carolina's concentration of pharmaceutical manufacturers in the Research Triangle and advanced manufacturers in the Charlotte region makes it a particularly active market for integration engineers with industrial and life-sciences experience.
Which North Carolina cities have the most integration engineer jobs?
The cities with the most integration engineer openings in North Carolina are Charlotte, Raleigh, and Cary. Charlotte's large concentration of energy, manufacturing, and financial technology firms drives demand there, while Raleigh and the surrounding Research Triangle area attract openings tied to pharmaceutical production, semiconductor fabrication, and enterprise software companies that have established North Carolina campuses.
Are there remote integration engineer jobs in North Carolina?
Yes, though they represent a selective share of openings, since many integration engineer roles require on-site work to connect physical systems, test hardware interfaces, or support manufacturing floors. About 33% of integration engineer openings tied to North Carolina are remote or hybrid as of August 2026. The sub-disciplines most compatible with remote arrangements are enterprise application integration and API development, where work centers on software configuration rather than physical installation.
How can I get hired as a integration engineer in North Carolina with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying for associate or junior integration engineer roles and co-op or rotational programs at North Carolina's large manufacturing and life-sciences employers, such as the automation and controls rotational programs run by pharmaceutical and energy companies in the Research Triangle and Charlotte. Candidates with adjacent experience in IT support, field service technician roles, or instrumentation can transition effectively by pairing that background with a vendor certification in a major integration platform, which signals practical readiness to North Carolina hiring managers.
Where can I find and apply to integration engineer jobs in North Carolina?
You can find and apply to integration engineer jobs in North Carolina on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings tied to this role across the state. Search the available positions, find roles that match your background and target location, and apply directly to the ones that fit.
