Investment Jobs in Baltimore: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a investment job in Baltimore?
The strongest entry points in Baltimore are its asset management firms, regional banks, and the growing cluster of wealth management practices in Harbor East and the Inner Harbor. Candidates who combine financial analysis skills with familiarity in fixed income or equity research stand out locally. Networking through Baltimore CFA Society events and targeting mid-size investment advisors, which hire more actively than national firms, gives a meaningful edge in this market.
Which companies hire investments in Baltimore?
Companies currently hiring investments in Baltimore include T. Rowe Price, Franklin Templeton, and Brown Advisory, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Baltimore's employer mix skews toward regional asset managers, university endowment offices, and insurance-linked investment arms, alongside several national firms with local operations in Harbor East.
Are there remote investment jobs in Baltimore?
Yes, though it depends on the role. Analytical and research-focused investment positions tend to be more remote-compatible, while client-facing or trading-floor roles remain largely on-site. About 100% of investment openings tied to Baltimore are remote or hybrid as of August 2026. Portfolio analysis, financial modeling, and research roles connected to Baltimore's asset management community are the most likely to offer flexible arrangements.
How can I get a investment job in Baltimore with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Baltimore is through financial analyst or investment operations roles at regional wealth management firms and community banks, many of which hire junior candidates and provide on-the-job mentorship. Johns Hopkins and University of Maryland alumni networks connect new graduates directly to Baltimore's investment community. Entry-level roles in fund operations, client servicing, or research support at local RIAs often serve as the bridge into portfolio and advisory positions.
Which industries hire the most investments in Baltimore?
