Investment Jobs in Maryland: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a investment in Maryland?
Most investment roles in Maryland require at minimum a bachelor's degree in finance, economics, or accounting, combined with FINRA licensing through the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority. Roles involving securities advice typically require a Series 7 and Series 63 license, administered through FINRA and coordinated with the Maryland Securities Division under the Office of the Attorney General. Many Maryland employers also expect candidates pursuing more senior analytical positions to be enrolled in or have completed the CFA program.
Which companies hire investments in Maryland?
Employers hiring investments in Maryland right now include T. Rowe Price, Ford Agency, and JPMorganChase, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Maryland's concentration of established asset managers, federal financial contractors, and regional banking institutions means hiring is relatively consistent throughout the year rather than driven by seasonal cycles.
Which Maryland cities have the most investment jobs?
Baltimore, Bethesda, and Annapolis account for the largest share of investment openings in Maryland. Baltimore anchors demand through its concentration of asset managers and regional banks, while Bethesda and Rockville draw heavily from proximity to federal agencies and the affluent Washington corridor, which sustains a strong wealth management and institutional advisory market in those suburbs.
Are there remote investment jobs in Maryland?
Yes, and more than many financial roles, particularly for research analysts and portfolio associates whose work is desk-based and data-driven. About 71% of investment openings tied to Maryland are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting a post-pandemic shift among asset managers and advisory firms. Client-facing roles such as wealth advisors typically require at least partial in-office presence, while back-office analytical and research positions carry the highest remote flexibility.
How can I get hired as a investment in Maryland with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a rotational analyst program at one of Maryland's larger asset managers or banks, where firms like T. Rowe Price recruit directly from Maryland universities for structured two-year programs. Candidates without direct investment experience often transition from adjacent roles in financial planning, corporate accounting, or credit analysis. Completing Level I of the CFA exam before applying signals commitment and gives entry-level candidates a measurable edge with Maryland employers who use it as a screening signal.
Where can I find and apply to investment jobs in Maryland?
You can find and apply to investment jobs in Maryland on Migrate Mate, which lists current Maryland openings across asset management, wealth advisory, research, and related finance roles. Search the listings to find roles that match your experience and credentials, then apply directly to the ones that fit your background.
