Role
We are looking for a Senior Manager of Global Commercial Compliance to join our Global Commercial Compliance department, reporting to the Director of Technology Compliance. This is a remote or hybrid role if based in San Jose, California. You will lead and scale our global commercial compliance program across international, public sector, privacy, and AI-related assurance frameworks. In this role, you will drive strategy and operational execution for key customer and regulator-facing commitments, ensuring a strong, audit-ready posture across multiple global standards.
What You’ll Do (Role Expectations)
- Own and evolve the global commercial compliance strategy across international and public sector assurance programs to align with customer and regulatory expectations
- Build scalable compliance programs that unify requirements across frameworks like ISO, SOC, and PCI, incorporating privacy-by-design and AI governance
- Lead internal audit activities and end-to-end external assessments while serving as the primary liaison to third-party certification bodies
- Establish compliance health metrics and dashboards to track control performance, evidence maturity, and remediation cycle times
- Provide executive-ready reporting on compliance posture and risk trends to senior leadership and relevant governance bodies
Who You Are (Success Profile)
- You thrive in ambiguity. You're comfortable building the path as you walk it. You thrive in a dynamic environment, seeing ambiguity not as a hindrance, but as the raw material to build something meaningful.
- You act like an owner. Your passion for the mission fuels your bias for action. You operate with integrity because you genuinely care about the outcome. True ownership involves leveraging dynamic range: the ability to navigate seamlessly between high-level strategy and hands-on execution.
- You are a problem-solver. You love running towards the challenges because you are laser-focused on finding the solution, knowing that solving the hard problems delivers the biggest impact.
- You are a high-trust collaborator. You are ambitious for the team, not just yourself. You embrace our challenge culture by giving and receiving ongoing feedback—knowing that candor delivered with clarity and respect is the truest form of teamwork and the fastest way to earn trust.
- You are a learner. You have a true growth mindset and are obsessed with your own development, actively seeking feedback to become a better partner and a stronger teammate. You love what you do and you do it with purpose.
What We’re Looking For (Minimum Qualifications)
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field
- 7–10+ years of progressive experience in compliance, assurance, audit, or risk management, including leadership of global programs
- Working knowledge of frameworks such as ISO 27001, ISO 22301, SOC 2, PCI DSS, C5, and IRAP with the ability to support AI governance concepts
- Proven ability to manage audits end-to-end, including evidence strategy, control testing, and stakeholder coordination
- Strong track record of leading cross-functional initiatives in complex, fast-paced environments
What Will Make You Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
- Relevant professional certifications such as CISA, CISSP, CISM, CRISC, or ISO 27001 Lead Auditor
- Experience building compliance infrastructure and maturing evidence quality within cloud and SaaS control environments
- Ability to influence at the executive level and drive alignment across Product, Engineering, and GTM stakeholders

Frame your training plan around skill gaps
J-1 Trainee and Intern programs require a structured Training or Internship Placement Plan. Tie each phase to competencies you cannot gain at home, such as U.S. enterprise sales methodology or CRM platform training. Vague plans get rejected.
Verify your career stage matches the category
The Intern category requires current enrollment or graduation within 12 months. The Trainee category covers professionals with at least one year of post-degree experience. Applying under the wrong category invalidates your DS-2019 before the host employer ever reviews your file.
Target host employers with structured onboarding programs
Account management roles at software, insurance, or distribution companies often have defined ramp-up cycles that map naturally onto J-1 training plans. Search for roles on Migrate Mate to find U.S. employers whose onboarding structures align with J-1 program requirements.
Confirm the host employer will sign the training plan
The designated sponsor organization issues your DS-2019, but the host employer must co-sign the Training or Internship Placement Plan and comply with supervision requirements. Get written confirmation from the hiring manager before the sponsor begins processing your application.
Check whether the 2-year home residency rule applies to you
Commercial Account Manager traineeships funded by your home government or in fields on the State Department's Exchange Visitor Skills List may trigger a two-year home residency requirement. Confirm your eligibility for a waiver before accepting an offer, as this affects your long-term U.S. career plans.
Research prevailing wage benchmarks before salary negotiations
While the J-1 does not require a formal Labor Condition Application, your compensation must be commensurate with similarly situated U.S. workers. Use the OFLC Wage Search and Bureau of Labor Statistics data to benchmark account manager wages by metro area before discussing an offer.

Find Commercial Account Manager JobsCommercial Account Manager J-1 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Which J-1 program category fits a Commercial Account Manager role?
Most candidates qualify under the Trainee category, which covers professionals with a relevant degree plus at least one year of post-graduation work experience, or the Intern category for current students and recent graduates. The training plan must focus on developing account management competencies you cannot acquire in your home country, not on performing routine sales duties.
Who actually sponsors the J-1 visa for this role?
The visa sponsor is a U.S. Department of State-designated organization such as Cultural Vistas or AIPT, not your hiring employer. The employer acts as the host organization. The designated sponsor reviews your training plan, issues the DS-2019 form, and monitors your program compliance throughout the exchange visit.
How do I find U.S. companies willing to host a J-1 Commercial Account Manager trainee?
Search Migrate Mate to identify U.S. employers whose account management roles and structured onboarding programs are compatible with J-1 training requirements. Focus on companies in sectors like B2B software, commercial insurance, or industrial distribution, where defined ramp-up cycles translate directly into a credible placement plan.
Can a Commercial Account Manager J-1 trainee work on commission?
Commission-only compensation is generally incompatible with J-1 program requirements because it does not constitute a wage commensurate with similarly situated U.S. workers. A base salary plus commission structure is acceptable, but the base component should align with local prevailing wage benchmarks for account management roles verified through the OFLC Wage Search.
Does the J-1 Trainee program have a time limit for Commercial Account Manager placements?
The Trainee category allows a maximum 18-month program duration. Extensions beyond that are not permitted under the same DS-2019. If your training objectives require longer exposure, the training plan must justify the full duration upfront. Returning to the United States for another J-1 Trainee program in the same field immediately after is also prohibited.
