What We Need
We’re looking for a technically curious, highly proactive Product Management Intern to join Yieldmo’s Data Engineering (DCS) team for Summer 2026. In this role, you’ll help drive critical data initiatives forward while independently identifying opportunities to improve systems, workflows, and user experiences. You’ll partner closely with engineering and business stakeholders to manage active projects, prototype solutions, and bring structure to complex data operations. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-moving environments, enjoys solving ambiguous problems, and actively uses AI tools to accelerate how they think and build. You won’t just support projects—you’ll help shape outcomes that directly impact how Yieldmo activates and scales data-driven advertising solutions.
What You Can Expect In This Role
- Drive progress across 10–12 active Data Engineering initiatives by coordinating with cross-functional teams, identifying blockers, and helping keep execution on track
- Build dashboards and reporting tools that improve visibility into pixel performance, onboarding workflows, and operational health
- Own independent projects end-to-end, including user discovery, requirement gathering, prototyping, and presenting recommendations
- Support the automated onboarding of client first-party data, including ingestion workflows, vendor coordination, re-ingestion processes, and campaign readiness
- Write clear product requirements, technical documentation, and process guides that support scalable engineering execution
- Leverage AI tools such as Claude and ChatGPT to prototype ideas, automate workflows, and improve operational efficiency
- Collaborate closely with Data Engineering stakeholders to improve systems, tooling, and internal processes across the DCS organization
- Analyze workflows and identify opportunities to reduce friction, improve reliability, and create more scalable solutions
- Build and maintain curated prospect and research lists that support strategic business and partnership opportunities
- Present an end-of-summer recap highlighting key project outcomes, insights, learnings, and product contributions to stakeholders and leadership
Requirements:
- You are currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related technical field (Rising Senior or Graduate Student preferred)
- You actively use AI tools to build, prototype, automate, or solve problems in meaningful ways beyond casual experimentation
- You have independently owned projects from idea through execution, demonstrating initiative, accountability, and strong follow-through
- You are comfortable collaborating across technical and non-technical teams and can clearly communicate requirements, tradeoffs, and progress
- You bring strong technical curiosity and foundational knowledge of APIs, systems, data workflows, or analytics concepts
- You are organized, adaptable, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-growth environment

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding J-1 Visa Sponsorship in Product Director
Frame your DS-2019 program category early
Product Director candidates typically qualify under the Trainee or Specialist category, not Intern. Clarify with your designated sponsor which category fits your experience level before approaching host employers, since the category shapes your training plan requirements.
Build a structured training plan before interviewing
Your designated sponsor requires a formal training plan outlining learning objectives, supervision structure, and evaluation milestones. Draft this document before your first interview so host employers see you've already mapped the compliance requirements they'll need to sign off on.
Target host organizations with existing J-1 relationships
Use Migrate Mate to identify U.S. employers already listed as active J-1 visa host organizations in product and technology sectors. These companies have cleared the host agreement process and are far more likely to move quickly on your application.
Address the two-year home residency rule upfront
Some Specialist and Trainee participants are subject to a two-year home-country residency requirement after their J-1 period ends. Confirm your eligibility status with your designated sponsor before negotiating any offer, since this affects your ability to change status later.
Align your role description with specialty occupation standards
Product Director is a complex, judgment-intensive role. Ask the host employer to document that the position requires a specific bachelor's degree or higher in a related field, since this strengthens your training plan and supports the designated sponsor's program justification.
Verify prevailing wage compliance before accepting an offer
Your designated sponsor and host employer must confirm your compensation meets program standards. Cross-check the offered rate against the OFLC Wage Search and O*NET data for Product Director roles in your work location to flag any gaps before your DS-2019 is issued.
Product Director J-1 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Which J-1 program category applies to a Product Director role?
Most Product Director candidates fall under the Trainee or Specialist category. Trainee applies if you've recently completed a degree and have limited post-graduation work experience. Specialist applies to mid-career professionals with substantial expertise in a clearly defined field. The Intern category is reserved for current degree students and won't apply to a director-level role.
Who actually sponsors my J-1 visa - the employer or a separate organization?
The visa sponsor is a U.S. Department of State-designated organization, such as Cultural Vistas, CIEE, or AIPT, that issues your DS-2019 form and monitors your program compliance. The hiring company is your host organization, not your sponsor. You need both: a host employer who agrees to the training plan and a designated sponsor who administers the visa program.
How do I find U.S. employers willing to host a J-1 Product Director?
Search Migrate Mate to identify companies in product and technology sectors that have hosted J-1 participants before. Employers who have already signed host agreements with a designated sponsor understand the training plan requirements and compliance obligations, which reduces friction during the offer stage. Targeting these companies shortens your timeline significantly.
Can I transition from J-1 to a different work visa after my program ends?
Possibly, but the two-year home-country residency requirement is a significant barrier for many Specialist and Trainee participants. If your home country is on the Exchange Visitor Skills List or your program was government-funded, you may need to fulfill this requirement or obtain a waiver before changing to H-1B visa or another status. Confirm your specific situation with your designated sponsor before accepting any offer.
What documents does a host employer need to provide for my J-1 application?
The host employer signs a formal training plan that details your learning objectives, supervision arrangements, and performance evaluation schedule. They also complete a host organization agreement with your designated sponsor and may need to provide documentation confirming the position's educational requirements. Starting this paperwork early matters because the designated sponsor reviews and approves it before issuing your DS-2019.
