What We Need
We’re looking for a technically curious, highly proactive Product Management Intern to join Yieldmo’s Data Engineering (DCS) team for Summer 2026. In this role, you’ll help drive critical data initiatives forward while independently identifying opportunities to improve systems, workflows, and user experiences. You’ll partner closely with engineering and business stakeholders to manage active projects, prototype solutions, and bring structure to complex data operations. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-moving environments, enjoys solving ambiguous problems, and actively uses AI tools to accelerate how they think and build. You won’t just support projects—you’ll help shape outcomes that directly impact how Yieldmo activates and scales data-driven advertising solutions.
What You Can Expect In This Role
- Drive progress across 10–12 active Data Engineering initiatives by coordinating with cross-functional teams, identifying blockers, and helping keep execution on track
- Build dashboards and reporting tools that improve visibility into pixel performance, onboarding workflows, and operational health
- Own independent projects end-to-end, including user discovery, requirement gathering, prototyping, and presenting recommendations
- Support the automated onboarding of client first-party data, including ingestion workflows, vendor coordination, re-ingestion processes, and campaign readiness
- Write clear product requirements, technical documentation, and process guides that support scalable engineering execution
- Leverage AI tools such as Claude and ChatGPT to prototype ideas, automate workflows, and improve operational efficiency
- Collaborate closely with Data Engineering stakeholders to improve systems, tooling, and internal processes across the DCS organization
- Analyze workflows and identify opportunities to reduce friction, improve reliability, and create more scalable solutions
- Build and maintain curated prospect and research lists that support strategic business and partnership opportunities
- Present an end-of-summer recap highlighting key project outcomes, insights, learnings, and product contributions to stakeholders and leadership
Requirements:
- You are currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related technical field (Rising Senior or Graduate Student preferred)
- You actively use AI tools to build, prototype, automate, or solve problems in meaningful ways beyond casual experimentation
- You have independently owned projects from idea through execution, demonstrating initiative, accountability, and strong follow-through
- You are comfortable collaborating across technical and non-technical teams and can clearly communicate requirements, tradeoffs, and progress
- You bring strong technical curiosity and foundational knowledge of APIs, systems, data workflows, or analytics concepts
- You are organized, adaptable, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-growth environment

Nice to Haves
- Hands-on experience building side projects, prototypes, automations, or technical tools independently
- Familiarity with SQL, Python, Looker, or similar analytics and data visualization platforms
- Exposure to ETL pipelines, data infrastructure concepts, or large-scale data workflows
- Interest in or exposure to ad tech, programmatic advertising, digital media, or data-driven marketing environments

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding J-1 Visa Sponsorship in Product Lifecycle Management
Document PLM software proficiency before applying
Compile verifiable records of your hands-on experience with PLM platforms like Windchill, Teamcenter, or Enovia. Designated sponsors evaluate training plans against your existing credentials, so gaps in documented tool proficiency can stall DS-2019 issuance.
Target host employers with active J-1 training histories
Search for U.S. manufacturers and engineering firms that list structured training programs in product development or systems integration. Use Migrate Mate to filter roles by J-1 visa sponsorship alignment before reaching out to hiring managers.
Match your J-1 category to your career stage accurately
Apply under Intern if you're currently enrolled in a degree program with PLM coursework. If you've graduated and hold relevant professional experience, the Trainee category applies instead. Mismatching your category is a common reason sponsors reject training plans before a host interview is even scheduled.
Verify prevailing wage requirements with your host employer
Your host must pay wages that meet DOL standards for your PLM role and work location. Use the OFLC Wage Search to confirm the prevailing rate for your SOC code before finalizing your training plan, so compensation disputes don't surface after your DS-2019 is issued.
Request a phase-specific training plan from your host
J-1 Trainee programs require a detailed Training Plan (DS-7002) tied to specific PLM competencies, not a generic job description. Ask your host to outline distinct learning phases covering areas like bill-of-materials management, change control workflows, and cross-departmental coordination to satisfy sponsor review.
Clarify the two-year home residency rule before accepting any offer
Some J-1 participants in technical training categories are subject to a two-year home-country residency requirement after program completion. Confirm with your designated sponsor whether your PLM training program triggers this requirement, since it affects your ability to change status or apply for an immigrant visa afterward.
Product Lifecycle Management J-1 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Which J-1 program category fits a Product Lifecycle Management role?
The Trainee category applies if you've graduated and have relevant PLM or engineering experience you want to develop in a U.S. host organization. The Intern category applies if you're currently enrolled in a university program that includes product development or systems coursework. The category determines your DS-2019 eligibility criteria, maximum program duration, and the structure your training plan must follow.
Who actually sponsors the J-1 visa for a PLM position?
The visa sponsor is a U.S. Department of State-designated organization, such as Cultural Vistas, CIEE, or AIPT, not your host employer. The host organization provides the PLM training opportunity and signs the DS-7002 Training Plan, but the designated sponsor issues your DS-2019 certificate, monitors program compliance, and remains your point of contact with the State Department throughout your exchange.
How do I find U.S. employers willing to host J-1 PLM trainees?
Use Migrate Mate to search for Product Lifecycle Management roles at U.S. companies that have structured exchange visitor or international training programs. Filtering by J-1 sponsorship alignment early in your search saves time by surfacing host organizations already familiar with DS-7002 requirements and designated sponsor coordination, rather than educating employers from scratch during the offer stage.
Can the two-year home residency requirement affect my PLM career path after the J-1?
Yes. If your J-1 Trainee program is funded by a government or falls under a skills-shortage exchange agreement, the two-year home residency requirement may apply, barring you from changing to H-1B visa or adjusting to permanent resident status until you fulfill it or obtain a waiver. Confirm this with your designated sponsor before signing any training agreement, since PLM roles funded through government partnerships sometimes trigger the requirement.
What does a valid J-1 training plan for a PLM role need to include?
Your DS-7002 Training Plan must outline specific, measurable learning objectives tied to PLM competencies, not a generic job description. Sponsors expect phase-based progressions covering areas like product data management, engineering change workflows, cross-functional project coordination, and relevant software systems. Vague plans referencing only job titles or department names are routinely rejected, delaying your DS-2019 and pushing back your program start date.
