Schedule
Full-Time: 80 Hours/Bi-Weekly
Hours: M-F 3-11:30 pm with holiday and some weekend rotation for coverage. Also oversees night shift so some rotation to these hours at times is expected.
General Summary
Provides laboratory services to meet the needs of patients performed in accordance with accepted standards and practices. Supervises personnel and coordinates functions and activities in assigned division. Functions at least 50% of time as a technical staff member.

WellSpan Good Samaritan Hospital serves as the cornerstone of care for a total population of nearly 142,000 residents living in the rural and urban mix of Lebanon County. A full-service, acute-care hospital, with a 163 licensed bed capacity, admitting approximately 7,000 patients annually. We offer open heart procedures, comprehensive cardiac care, total joint replacements, private labor and delivery birthing suites, robotic surgery, and emergency care.
Essential Functions:
- Directs, supervises, and coordinates technical functions and activities in assigned area(s).
- Prepares work schedules, assigns personnel, evaluates work performance, and makes recommendations for personnel actions.
- Trains other employees in day-to-day procedures.
- Assists in developing budgets.
- Assists in developing department goals and objectives.
- Performs surveys and does comparative analyses of work units; may participate in research activities and investigates new products, equipment, techniques, methodologies, and introduces, demonstrates, effects, and recommends as is appropriate.
- Consults with medical staff and other health care providers on matters relating to laboratory and/or related services.
- Participates in Quality Assessment Program on a regular and continuing basis.
- Participates in department specific and/or system-wide projects of varying scope and duration.
- Performs the duties of a medical technologist, including tests and procedures.

- Demonstrates a commitment to patient, visitor and staff by: complying with all applicable safety regulations; learning the impact of medical errors and methodology that will lead to reduction of errors; reporting actual and potential errors, as well as hazardous conditions; identifying opportunities to standardize processes and "error proof" systems that will lead to increased safety; and participating in safety education programs and root cause analyses as required.
- Maintains established policies and procedures, objectives, quality assessment, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
- Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings, and workshops.
- Provides outstanding service to all customers; fosters teamwork; and practices fiscal responsibility through improvement and innovation.
- Requisitions laboratory supplies and maintains supply inventories.
- Assists with care and maintenance of department equipment and supplies.
Qualifications
Minimum Education:
- Bachelors Degree Required and
