Logistics Analyst Jobs in Maryland: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a logistics analyst in Maryland?
Maryland does not require a state-issued license to work as a logistics analyst. The standard path is a bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business, logistics, or a related field, followed by an entry-level analyst or coordinator role. Many Maryland employers, particularly in defense and federal contracting, also value APICS certifications such as the CPIM or CSCP. Candidates targeting government-adjacent roles should be prepared for security clearance requirements common in the Maryland market.
How much do logistics analysts make in Maryland?
Logistics analysts in Maryland earn a median of about $102,700 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $64,090 for the lowest 10% to over $156,750 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire logistics analysts in Maryland?
Employers hiring logistics analysts in Maryland right now include First Division Consulting, Longeviti, and Augustine Consulting, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Maryland's concentration of defense contractors and federal agency support firms makes it one of the more active states for logistics analyst hiring with a government or DoD focus.
Which Maryland cities have the most logistics analyst jobs?
The cities with the most logistics analyst openings in Maryland are Fort Detrick, Frederick, and Naval Air Station Patuxent River. Baltimore anchors most of the healthcare and commercial logistics hiring, while the suburban National Capital Region communities around Bethesda and Rockville attract the heaviest concentration of defense contractor and federal agency logistics roles, which explains why smaller suburban areas can appear alongside the state's largest city.
Are there remote logistics analyst jobs in Maryland?
Yes, and more than many analytical roles, since logistics analysts spend much of their time working with data, models, and procurement systems rather than on a warehouse floor. About 40% of logistics analyst openings tied to Maryland are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, with the most remote-compatible work concentrated in demand forecasting, inventory modeling, and supply chain reporting functions.
How can I get hired as a logistics analyst in Maryland with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a coordinator or operations analyst role at one of Maryland's large healthcare systems, such as University of Maryland Medical System or MedStar Health, or through internship pipelines at defense contractors like Northrop Grumman that recruit from University of Maryland and Towson University. Adjacent roles in purchasing, inventory control, or freight operations translate well and are frequently stepping stones. Earning an APICS entry-level credential strengthens any application without requiring prior analyst experience.
Where can I find and apply to logistics analyst jobs in Maryland?
You can find and apply to logistics analyst jobs in Maryland on Migrate Mate, which lists current Maryland openings updated regularly. Search the listings for roles that match your experience level and target industry, whether that is defense, healthcare, or commercial supply chain, and apply directly to the ones that fit.
