JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
In this role, the Lead Advanced Manufacturing and Repair Technology (AMRT) Machining and Tooling Engineer will develop, industrialize, and globalize machining and tooling processes and technologies for the gas turbine repair services network and new make supply chain. This person will coordinate with cross-functional teams and external suppliers to drive conventional and non-conventional machining processes that will enable contractual services productivity and fulfillment, transactional services growth, and new unit growth for a variety of industrial gas turbine components.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Roles and Responsibilities
- Develop new machining processes and technologies that will be utilized at sites around the globe.
- Design & fabricate a variety of fixtures and tooling in collaboration with internal & external sources while aligning with operational budgets.
- Utilize lean-manufacturing values and participate in action workouts to improve process capability, reduce overall costs, and increase capacity for both traditional and transactional lean lines.
- Assure all machining and tooling processes meet required specifications concerning the quality and productivity aspects for these technologies in the global service centers and new make sites.
- Interface with other organizations such as Sourcing, Repair Value Stream, Design, Materials, EHS, System, etc.
- Uses judgment to make decisions or solve complex tasks or problems in areas of operational/product management, manufacturing, technology, or engineering while ensuring operational alignment with organizational plans & KPIs.
- Lead or participate in assigned projects and/or tasks with a focus on Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost.
- Recommend approaches to meet both the technical and program requirements.
- Communicate progress to all levels of the organization.
- Assist with equipment upgrades from purchase through installation.
- Conduct cost/benefit assessments for possible changes to processes and/or equipment.
- Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures.
- Mentor and train less experienced personnel both within the organization and throughout the repair network.
Required Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, or a related field; or a minimum of 9 years of experience in machining, tooling, or a related field within the manufacturing industry.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in machining, tooling, or a related field within the manufacturing industry.
Desired Skills
- Experience in 3, 4, & 5 axis complex machining.
- Experience in fixture and tooling creation; from conceptual design to building to trials.
- Proven ability to own complex project execution from conceptual design to industrialization and delivery.
- Experience with PMAC controllers.
- Proficiency in CAD software such as NX.
- Experience with machining simulation software.
- Experience with lean manufacturing principles and methodologies including but not limited to generating effective standard work, kaizen, problem solving, and the 3-gen principle.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including analyzing data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey ideas and progress to stakeholders at all levels.
- Demonstrated project management acumen with experience in facilitating cross-functional teams; including experience managing multiple projects at one time, meeting deadlines, and staying within budget.
- Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and foster a collaborative environment.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work in a dynamic environment.
- Awareness and sensitivity to working in a global environment with diverse teams.

Relocation Assistance Provided: Yes
For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $98,400.00 and $164,000.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.
Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
