As a Manufacturing Supervisor, you will lead, coach, and develop a team of 10–20 operators while driving operational excellence in a GMP-regulated manufacturing environment.
In this role, you will foster a culture of continuous improvement through Lean and Practical Process Improvement (PPI) methodologies, enhancing productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction. A Day in the Life
- Lead daily manufacturing operations to achieve safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives.
- Supervise, coach, and develop a team of 10–20 manufacturing operators.
- Drive operational excellence through Lean manufacturing principles and Practical Process Improvement (PPI) methodologies.
- Monitor production schedules, staffing, workflow, and resource utilization to meet business objectives.
- Partner cross-functionally with Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, and other functional teams to resolve issues and improve performance.
- Ensure compliance with GMP requirements, quality systems, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and regulatory requirements.
- Lead and support investigations, deviations, CAPAs, and change control activities.
- Utilize data and performance metrics to identify trends, solve problems, and implement process improvements.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including standard work, 5S, and workflow optimization activities.
- Promote a culture of safety, accountability, engagement, and continuous learning.
Education
Preferred Education & Experience:
- Advanced Degree with 3+ years of experience in manufacturing operations, including 2+ years in a leadership role; OR
- Bachelor's Degree with 5+ years of experience in manufacturing operations, including 2+ years in a leadership role; OR
- High School Diploma/GED with 9+ years of relevant manufacturing operations experience, including 2+ years in a leadership role; OR
- An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Preferred Fields of Study:
- Engineering, Science, Business, or a related field.
Experience
- Experience in GMP, ISO, or other regulated manufacturing environments required.
- Experience leading and developing effective teams.
- Strong understanding of Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Expertise in production planning, scheduling, and workflow optimization.
- Ability to analyze data and metrics to drive process improvements.
- Experience with quality systems, SOPs, and regulatory compliance.
- Experience leading investigations, CAPAs, and change controls.
- Experience implementing standard work and 5S practices.
- Technical writing experience, including familiarity with writing deviations.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Lean and/or Six Sigma certification preferred.
- Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical mindset.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across functions and build consensus.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts and schedules as business needs require.
- Physical ability to perform manufacturing floor activities and cleanroom operations.
Physical Requirements / Work Environment
- Ability to work in a manufacturing and cleanroom environment.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform routine manufacturing floor activities for extended periods.
- Ability to use required personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow all site safety requirements.
