Entry Level Marketing Communications Director Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level marketing communications director job?
Employers hiring at this level look for candidates who can show real communication work, not just coursework. A portfolio with writing samples, campaign decks, press releases, or social content gives you a concrete edge. Internship experience in communications, PR, or content marketing is valued highly. Tailor your application to each posting and highlight any hands-on project work, even from academic or volunteer settings.
Which companies hire entry level marketing communications directors?
Companies hiring entry level marketing communications directors right now include Penn State University, Pepperdine University, and SAP, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. A mix of corporations, nonprofits, healthcare organizations, and agencies posts roles at this level, so candidates should look across sectors rather than limiting their search to one industry.
Are there remote entry level marketing communications director jobs?
Yes, though on-site roles remain common at this level. About 41% of entry level marketing communications director openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, giving candidates flexibility regardless of location. Filtering by work setting when you search can help you find openings that match your situation.
Are these new grad marketing communications director jobs?
Yes, many of these openings are new grad and junior roles that explicitly welcome candidates with little or no professional experience. A new-grad-friendly posting typically asks for zero to two years of experience, accepts internships or academic projects as qualifying work, or mentions a portfolio in place of a long resume. Recent graduates and career changers are well-positioned to apply for these roles.
Which industries hire the most entry level marketing communications directors?
Entry Level marketing communications director roles concentrate in Education, Technology & Software, and Government & Public Sector, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. These sectors tend to hire at this level because they run ongoing content, media relations, and brand campaigns that need junior communications support alongside senior staff.
