Marketing Jobs in Boston: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a marketing job in Boston?
Focus your search on Boston's life sciences corridor, its dense cluster of universities, and the financial services firms anchored in Back Bay and the Financial District. Employers in those sectors hire marketing professionals at every level, from content and demand generation to brand strategy. Familiarity with data-driven campaign measurement and experience working alongside research or clinical teams gives candidates a clear edge in Boston's market specifically.
Which companies hire marketings in Boston?
Boston marketing roles are posted by Columbia Threadneedle Investments, Highgate, and Highwire and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. The hiring pool is especially broad given Boston's mix of global biotech and pharma companies, asset managers, and fast-growing technology startups, all of which maintain in-house marketing teams.
Are there remote marketing jobs in Boston?
Yes, marketing is one of the more remote-friendly professional disciplines, particularly for roles in content, SEO, email, and digital analytics. About 87% of marketing openings tied to Boston are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how widely employers here have adopted flexible arrangements. Strategy and brand roles at Boston's life sciences and financial firms tend to skew hybrid rather than fully remote.
How can I get a marketing job in Boston with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Boston is through the city's large universities and teaching hospitals, which regularly hire marketing coordinators and communications assistants at the associate level. Boston's biotech and medtech startups also bring on entry-level marketers who can learn product and clinical messaging on the job. Building a portfolio with real campaign examples, even from internships or volunteer work with Boston nonprofits, gives applicants a concrete advantage over candidates with only coursework.
