Commercial Account Executive Jobs in Massachusetts: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a commercial account executive in Massachusetts?
Most commercial account executive roles in Massachusetts require a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field combined with prior B2B or inside sales experience. There is no state-issued license required for the role itself, though commercial insurance sales executives must hold an active Massachusetts Property and Casualty Producer License through the Massachusetts Division of Insurance. Employers typically promote from SDR, inside sales, or account management roles, and completing a recognized sales methodology certification strengthens candidacy significantly.
How much do commercial account executives make in Massachusetts?
Commercial account executives in Massachusetts earn a median of about $79,810 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $47,940 for the lowest 10% to over $157,000 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire commercial account executives in Massachusetts?
Employers hiring commercial account executives in Massachusetts right now include Salesforce, Dash0, and Datadog, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Massachusetts's concentration of enterprise software, insurance, and fintech companies means hiring activity is consistent year-round, particularly in Greater Boston.
Which Massachusetts cities have the most commercial account executive jobs?
Boston, Massachusetts, and Danvers have the most commercial account executive openings in Massachusetts. Boston dominates because it serves as the regional headquarters for major technology, financial services, and insurance employers, while Worcester and Cambridge draw openings from SaaS companies and life sciences firms expanding their commercial sales teams in the surrounding metro corridors.
Are there remote commercial account executive jobs in Massachusetts?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 88% of commercial account executive openings tied to Massachusetts are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how central digital communication and CRM tools have become to the role. Prospecting, pipeline management, and account reviews are the functions most commonly performed fully remotely, while enterprise clients and large-deal negotiations tend to require occasional in-person presence.
How can I get hired as a commercial account executive in Massachusetts with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is landing a sales development representative or inside sales role at a Boston-area technology or SaaS company and demonstrating consistent quota attainment before moving into a full account executive seat. Companies like HubSpot and Akamai run structured sales associate programs that pipeline candidates into commercial roles. A Property and Casualty Producer License from the Massachusetts Division of Insurance opens additional doors in commercial insurance, which hires entry-level candidates more frequently than software sales does.
Where can I find and apply to commercial account executive jobs in Massachusetts?
You can find and apply to commercial account executive jobs in Massachusetts on Migrate Mate, which lists current Massachusetts openings across industries including technology, financial services, and insurance. Find the roles that fit your experience and apply directly to the ones that match.
