Marketing Operations Manager Jobs in Illinois: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a marketing operations manager in Illinois?
Marketing operations manager roles in Illinois do not require a state-issued license or registration. Most employers expect a bachelor's degree in marketing, business, or a related field, combined with hands-on platform experience in marketing automation and CRM. Chicago's concentration of B2B technology, financial services, and consumer goods companies means candidates who build certifications in Marketo or Salesforce, then move through coordinator or analyst roles, follow the most common Illinois hiring path.
How much do marketing operations managers make in Illinois?
Marketing operations managers in Illinois earn a median of about $162,860 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $95,990 for the lowest 10% to over $276,340 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire marketing operations managers in Illinois?
Employers hiring marketing operations managers in Illinois right now include AbbVie, GEICO, and Shure, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Illinois's deep roster of Fortune 500 headquarters and fast-growing B2B software firms in the Chicago metro consistently generates some of the steadiest demand for this role in the Midwest.
Which Illinois cities have the most marketing operations manager jobs?
The cities with the most marketing operations manager openings in Illinois are Chicago, Illinois, and Mettawa. Chicago dominates because it serves as the corporate headquarters base for major consumer brands, financial services firms, and B2B technology companies, while suburban markets like Schaumburg and Naperville attract openings from large regional offices and logistics-adjacent tech employers anchored along the I-90 and I-88 corridors.
Are there remote marketing operations manager jobs in Illinois?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 75% of marketing operations manager openings tied to Illinois are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how central this role is to digital workflows that do not require physical presence. Campaign setup, attribution modeling, and database management are the functions most commonly performed fully remote, while roles that involve close coordination with sales leadership tend to require at least hybrid availability.
How can I get hired as a marketing operations manager in Illinois with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through a marketing coordinator or marketing analyst role at a Chicago-area B2B technology company or agency, where exposure to automation platforms and CRM is built into the day-to-day work. Large Illinois employers across financial services and consumer goods often bring on associates through rotational or early-career marketing programs. Earning a Marketo Certified Expert or Salesforce Administrator credential before applying significantly strengthens a candidacy, as does building a portfolio of campaign build examples from internship or volunteer work.
Where can I find and apply to marketing operations manager jobs in Illinois?
You can find and apply to marketing operations manager jobs in Illinois on Migrate Mate, which lists current Illinois openings updated in real time. Search the listings, identify the roles that fit your experience and location, and apply directly to each one.
