INTRODUCTION
Sanhua's Automotive Business Unit is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join our team in our Auburn Hills, Michigan office. This person will be the primary technical interface to OEM and tier customers on thermal management-related products and programs. Specifically, automotive thermal expansion valves, thermal bypass valves, receiver dryer, check valves, etc. In addition to providing technical support as needed. The ideal candidate will have a Mechanical Engineering Degree a solid understanding MS office application, GD&T, mechanical drafting, DVP&R, DFMEA, and DRBFM methodologies. This person is patient, has excellent time-management skills, and practices of effective communication style.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for managing thermal management system/component programs and supporting customers in North America
- Support program team in product development activities including internal design reviews and gate reviews, weekly PDT meetings with customers, design/process validation planning, PPAP preparation, and documentation, etc.
- Support new business acquisition through analysis of customer specifications and requirements, conceptual design, and technical proposals
- Support engineering change process and cost reduction initiatives, both internal and external
- Conduct design of experiments, failure analysis for thermal management related products, analyze validation test results, compile report and present to customers
- Interface with packaging, service, manufacturing, and other engineering groups in system/component development process
- Resolve customer complaints by investigating problems, developing solutions, preparing reports, and making recommendations to management
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and/or seminars, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, participating in professional societies and conferences
- Coordinate design and development activities of thermal management assemblies and components in China headquarter
- Some local, domestic and international travel may be required
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- BS Mechanical Engineering
- 0-2 years’ experience HVAC systems/components development or master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred
- Knowledge in thermodynamics, thermal management, fluid dynamics
- Competency in MS office applications, GD&T, mechanical drafting, DVP&R, DFMEA, and DRBFM methodologies
- Parametric CAD design experience (Catia V5 or UGNX)
- Must be proficient in Chinese
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
