Medical Assistant Jobs in Charlotte: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a medical assistant job in Charlotte?
Target Charlotte's busiest hiring corridors: University City near the major medical campus, Ballantyne for corporate health clinics, and SouthPark for specialty practices. Large health systems, urgent care networks, and multi-specialty outpatient groups hire most consistently here. Candidates with a nationally recognized certification such as CMA or RMA and hands-on externship experience in a clinical setting stand out in Charlotte's competitive market.
Which companies hire medical assistants in Charlotte?
Companies currently hiring medical assistants in Charlotte include Advocate Aurora Health, Atrium Health, and Novant Health, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Charlotte's mix of large integrated health systems, independent specialty clinics, and corporate employer health centers creates steady openings across experience levels year-round.
Are there remote medical assistant jobs in Charlotte?
Yes, though remote options are limited given that most medical assistant duties require direct patient contact on-site. About 0% of medical assistant openings tied to Charlotte are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, primarily covering telephone triage, care coordination, and prior authorization roles. Telehealth-focused practices and administrative hybrid positions are the most realistic remote paths in Charlotte.
How can I get a medical assistant job in Charlotte with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Charlotte is completing an accredited medical assisting program at a local institution and securing an externship at a Charlotte urgent care clinic or community health center, which frequently convert externs to hires. Entry-level positions at high-volume outpatient practices in University City and Steele Creek are particularly open to new graduates. Earning a CMA credential before applying gives candidates a measurable edge over unlicensed applicants in this market.
