Position Summary: We are looking for a Brand Designer / Motion Designer to join our team — someone who believes brands are living systems, not just visual expressions. This role is for a designer with a deep background in building holistic, enduring brand systems that scale across product, marketing, and culture. You bring strong brand architecture thinking, refined craft, and a systems mindset. You understand how typography, motion, color, voice, and behavior work together to create meaning. You have experience shaping integrated efforts that live across product surfaces, campaigns, and emerging media. You’re comfortable operating across a wide range of touchpoints, from in-product moments to large-scale brand storytelling. You think conceptually but execute rigorously. When you have a vision, you can shepherd it from idea to launch with clarity, conviction, and minimal oversight. You are equally energized by defining the foundation and pushing creative expression forward.
Responsibilities:
- Help build and evolve cohesive brand systems that scale across product and marketing
- Create high-quality design solutions and brand behaviors with a strong level of craft
- Actively iterate on ideas and concepts, exploring broadly and refining thoughtfully
- Be deeply hands-on from early exploration through final execution and production-ready delivery
- Translate product UI and in-product experiences into compelling marketing moments
- Partner closely with marketing, product design, and engineering to ensure alignment between product surfaces and external storytelling
- Break down complex narratives into simple, clear, and emotionally resonant creative
- Design conceptual brand expressions that communicate brand intention and value across channels

- 5+ years of experience designing for brand, with demonstrated depth in building and evolving brand systems
- Portfolio showcasing strong craft across brand identity, marketing campaigns, web, and motion
- Experience translating brand strategy into compelling marketing expressions across multiple channels

- Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate creative thinking and design rationale
- Proven track record of self-initiated projects and proactive creative problem-solving
- Experience creating with new platforms and emerging technology (AI)
- Link to an online portfolio showcasing your work (include link on resume)
- Must be eligible to work in the US

Mid Level Motion Designer Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a mid level motion designer job?
Position yourself around ownership, not just execution. Hiring managers at this level want to see that you have led projects from brief to delivery, made creative decisions independently, and can articulate why your work performed. Sharpen your reel to show complete pieces you drove, not just shots you contributed to, and be ready to speak to your process and the feedback you incorporated along the way.
Which companies hire mid level motion designers?
Companies hiring mid level motion designers right now include Highwire, Motive, and Stripe, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Hiring at this level covers in-house brand and marketing teams, streaming and media studios, and agencies that need designers who can run projects independently without heavy senior oversight.
Are there remote mid level motion designer jobs?
Yes, and the share is significant. About 38% of mid level motion designer openings are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting how widely studios and in-house teams have normalized distributed creative workflows. Mid level designers tend to qualify for these arrangements because they can manage their own timelines and communicate progress without daily in-person check-ins.
How do I move up to a mid level motion designer role?
The shift from entry level to mid level comes from deepening your ownership over time. Focus on taking full projects rather than individual tasks, building proficiency in at least one specialty such as 3D, character animation, or UI motion, and accumulating work where you can point to measurable outcomes. Seek feedback actively, study how senior designers solve problems, and look for opportunities to lead a project even informally before your title changes.
Which industries hire the most mid level motion designers?
Mid Level motion designer roles concentrate in Technology & Software, Energy, and Retail, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. These sectors drive hiring at this level because they need designers who can produce polished, on-brand motion work consistently and with minimal ramp-up time on each project.
