ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Patient care & Preparation:
- Explain MRI procedures and address patient questions.
- Position patients according to established protocols and ensure comfort. Administer contrast agents under supervision when required.
- Imaging & Equipment Operation: Operate MRI scanners and adjust settings to produce high-quality images. Monitor patients during scans and ensure adherence to safety protocols. Inspect images for diagnostic quality and collaborate with radiologists for review.
- Safety & Compliance: Apply MRI safety practices, including magnetic field safety and infection control. Follow all institutional and regulatory guidelines (e.g., ACR, HIPAA). Record and update patient information in EMR. Communicate effectively with healthcare team members regarding patient status and imaging results.
- Maintenance & Quality Assurance: Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of MRI equipment. Troubleshoot technical issues and ensure equipment calibration.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Associate’s degree in Radiologic Technology or related field; completion of accredited MRI program preferred.
- 1-2 years of clinical experience preferred.
- ARRT certification in MRI or equivalent credential strongly preferred.
- State licensure as required.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and MRI protocols.
- Proficiency in operating MRI equipment and interpreting images.
- Excellent communication and patient care skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain attention to detail.
