.NET Developer Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a .net developer in Texas?
There is no state-issued license required to work as a .net developer in Texas. Most Texas employers expect a bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or information technology, along with demonstrated proficiency in C# and the .NET framework. Completing a recognized coding bootcamp or earning a Microsoft certification in .NET development can substitute for or complement a degree for candidates entering the field.
How much do .NET developers make in Texas?
.NET developers in Texas earn a median of about $132,150 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $82,600 for the lowest 10% to over $183,680 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire .net developers in Texas?
Employers hiring .net developers in Texas right now include Collabera, Saxon Global, and Esolvit, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Texas's concentration of energy companies, defense contractors, and large financial institutions means .net developers here often work on enterprise-scale systems rather than early-stage product environments.
Which Texas cities have the most .net developer jobs?
Austin, Irving, and Dallas have the most .net developer openings in Texas. Dallas leads because of its dense cluster of corporate headquarters and financial technology firms, Austin draws heavily from its established tech industry and growing startup ecosystem, and Houston's energy sector and medical center create consistent demand for enterprise .NET applications supporting both operations and healthcare platforms.
Are there remote .net developer jobs in Texas?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 0% of .net developer openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting how thoroughly desk-based and tool-independent this work is. Backend and API development roles tend to be the most fully remote, while roles involving on-site integrations with legacy enterprise systems are more likely to require in-person attendance.
How can I get hired as a .net developer in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying to junior or associate developer roles at large Texas technology or enterprise employers, where structured onboarding programs exist for new graduates. Dell Technologies, USAA, and major Dallas-area financial firms regularly bring on junior .NET developers from computer science programs at Texas universities. Building a GitHub portfolio of C# projects and earning a Microsoft Certified: Azure Developer Associate credential gives candidates without work history a concrete edge in applications.
Where can I find and apply to .net developer jobs in Texas?
You can find and apply to .net developer jobs in Texas on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings from employers hiring across the state. Find roles that fit your experience and location and apply directly to each one.
