Operations Director Jobs in Orlando: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a operations director job in Orlando?
Your strongest path into an operations director role in Orlando is through the city's dominant sectors: hospitality and resort management, healthcare systems, logistics and distribution, and defense or simulation technology. Employers in the Lake Nona medical city, convention-area hotel groups, and the growing tech corridor near UCF tend to hire from within operations, so experience managing multi-site teams or high-volume service environments gives you a real edge locally.
Which companies hire operations directors in Orlando?
Employers hiring operations directors in Orlando right now include Event Network, ADP, and Areas, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Orlando's mix of large healthcare networks, resort and hospitality groups, defense contractors, and regional distribution hubs means demand comes from a broad set of employer types rather than a single dominant industry.
Are there remote operations director jobs in Orlando?
Yes, but selectively: operations director roles that involve overseeing physical facilities, staff scheduling, or on-site logistics are almost always in-person, while roles focused on process improvement, vendor management, or corporate operations strategy are more likely to offer flexibility. About 50% of operations director openings tied to Orlando are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, with hybrid arrangements most common among technology companies and regional corporate offices along Sand Lake Road.
How can I get a operations director job in Orlando with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Orlando is moving up through operations coordinator or operations manager roles inside the city's large hospitality, healthcare, or logistics employers, where internal promotion is common and scope grows quickly. Companies managing convention properties near International Drive, regional healthcare networks in Lake Nona, and third-party logistics providers near Orlando International Airport regularly develop operations talent from within, making demonstrated results in a supervisory or analyst role a stronger credential locally than a generalist resume.
