Oracle Developer Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a oracle developer in Texas?
Texas does not require a state-issued license to work as an oracle developer, so the path runs through education and certification rather than a licensing board. Most hiring managers in Texas expect at minimum a bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field, combined with hands-on Oracle Database or Oracle Cloud experience. Oracle's own certifications, such as Oracle Database SQL Certified Associate or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure certifications, carry real weight with Texas employers and can substitute for years of experience early in a career.
How much do oracle developers make in Texas?
Oracle developers in Texas earn a median of about $132,150 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $82,600 for the lowest 10% to over $183,680 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire oracle developers in Texas?
Employers hiring oracle developers in Texas right now include Oracle, LTIMindtree, and Mavenir, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Texas's deep concentration of energy, financial services, and large enterprise technology firms means demand tends to be consistent year-round rather than seasonal.
Which Texas cities have the most oracle developer jobs?
Austin, Dallas, and Irving have the most oracle developer openings in Texas. Dallas leads because of its dense cluster of corporate headquarters and financial services firms, Houston draws heavily on energy-sector Oracle ERP demand, and Austin's fast-growing enterprise technology sector makes it a strong third market for cloud and database-focused roles.
Are there remote oracle developer jobs in Texas?
Yes, and more than most technical fields allow. About 7% of oracle developer openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting how much of the work involves database development and configuration that can be done off-site. The roles most consistently offered remotely are Oracle Cloud ERP implementation and PL/SQL development positions, while on-site requirements are more common for roles tied to proprietary internal systems.
How can I get hired as a oracle developer in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a junior developer or associate DBA role at a large Texas employer that runs structured technology rotational programs, such as the enterprise IT divisions at energy companies in Houston or financial institutions in Dallas. Building a portfolio of PL/SQL scripts and Oracle APEX projects demonstrates hands-on ability when experience is thin. Texas community colleges and universities with Oracle Academy partnerships offer coursework that translates directly to entry-level credentials. Lateral moves from data analyst or SQL developer roles are also a common door-opener at mid-size Texas firms.
Where can I find and apply to oracle developer jobs in Texas?
You can find and apply to oracle developer jobs in Texas on Migrate Mate, which lists current Texas openings across industries and experience levels. Find roles that fit your background and apply directly without creating a profile or going through a third-party platform.
