With a global footprint spanning more than 80 countries and including over 75% of the Fortune 100, Perforce Software, Inc. is trusted by the world’s leading brands to deliver solutions for the toughest challenges. The best run DevOps teams in the world choose Perforce.
Perforce is hiring a Senior Compensation Analyst to serve as the dedicated owner of CaptivateIQ (CIQ), our commissions and incentive compensation platform. This role sits at the center of sales compensation operations, responsible for the day-to-day accuracy of commission calculations, the integrity of plan configurations, and the ongoing evolution of the system as Perforce's comp plans, deal structures, and go-to-market strategy change. This is not a general comp analyst role. We need someone who has lived inside CaptivateIQ, who understands its data model, calculation logic, statement generation, and admin console at a deep, technical level, and who can be trusted as the final word on how the system should be configured and why.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
You'll have real ownership of a system that directly impacts how our sales organization is paid — with the autonomy to shape how CIQ evolves as Perforce grows. You'll work closely with FP&A, Sales Operations, and Sales leadership on high-visibility initiatives, including compensation plan redesign and dependent-variable incentive structures.
Own CaptivateIQ end-to-end: serve as the primary system administrator responsible for configuration, data integrity, calculation logic, and platform governance.
- Update, correct, and maintain commission plan structures, rules, tiers, accelerators, and crediting logic within CIQ as plans change or errors are identified.
- Investigate and resolve commission calculation discrepancies, tracing issues back to source data (Salesforce, HRIS, billing) versus CIQ configuration.
- Act as the go-to recommender for all CIQ changes; evaluating requests from Sales, Sales Ops, HR, and Finance, and advising on the best way to implement them within the platform's capabilities.
- Partner with FP&A and Sales Compensation leadership to translate new or amended comp plans (including dependent-variable and accelerator-based designs) into accurate CIQ builds.
- Manage data integrations and imports between CIQ and upstream systems (Salesforce, HRIS, billing/ERP), ensuring clean, reconciled data flows.
- Build and maintain CIQ reporting and dashboards to support commission audits, payout reconciliation, and leadership visibility into plan performance.
- Own the commission payout calendar and monthly/quarterly close process within CIQ, ensuring statements are accurate and released on time.
- Document CIQ configurations, workflows, and change history to maintain a clean audit trail and reduce key-person risk.
- Support SOX-related controls and audit requests tied to commission calculations and system access.
- Train and support sales, finance, and HR stakeholders on how to read commission statements and use CIQ-related tools.
- Stay current on CaptivateIQ platform releases and proactively recommend enhancements that improve accuracy, scalability, or rep experience.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of experience in sales compensation, commissions administration, or a related finance/RevOps function.
- Deep, hands-on CaptivateIQ experience is required; including plan building, formula/logic configuration, data connections, and admin-level troubleshooting. Candidates without direct CIQ experience will not be considered.
- Proven track record as a system owner or lead administrator for a commissions or incentive compensation platform (CIQ, Xactly, Varicent, SPIFF, or similar), with a strong preference for CaptivateIQ specifically.
- Strong understanding of sales compensation plan mechanics such as quotas, accelerators, tiers, SPIFFs, draws, clawbacks, and multi-component plans.
- Advanced Excel skills; comfort working with large, imperfect datasets and reconciling data across systems.
- Experience with Salesforce (or another CRM) as a data source for commissions, including how opportunity and product data flow into calculations.
- Excellent attention to detail and a bias toward accuracy; this role is the last line of defense before commission dollars go out the door.
- Strong communication skills; able to explain complex calculation logic clearly to non-technical stakeholders and to push back diplomatically on requests that would compromise data integrity.
- Comfort operating independently and taking ownership; this person will be the internal expert and primary decision-maker on CIQ matters.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- CaptivateIQ certification or formal admin training.
- Experience supporting compensation plans in a PE-backed or multi-business-unit software company.
- Familiarity with ASC 606 revenue recognition as it relates to commission expensing.
- Prior experience partnering directly with FP&A on plan design or comp modeling.

Senior Compensation Manager Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a senior compensation manager in Texas?
The most direct path is a bachelor's degree in human resources, business, or finance followed by several years in compensation analyst or HR generalist roles. Texas does not require a state-issued license to practice compensation management, but the Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) credential from WorldatWork is widely expected by major Texas employers and meaningfully strengthens candidacy. Large Texas corporate employers in Dallas-Fort Worth and Houston typically promote from within their compensation teams or hire from peer industries.
How much do senior compensation managers make in Texas?
Senior compensation managers in Texas earn a median of about $136,930 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $86,550 for the lowest 10% to over $216,890 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire senior compensation managers in Texas?
Employers hiring senior compensation managers in Texas right now include Alvarez & Marsal, WTW, and HP, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Texas's concentration of Fortune 500 headquarters, major energy companies, and large health systems creates consistent demand for experienced compensation professionals across industries.
Which Texas cities have the most senior compensation manager jobs?
Dallas, Houston, and Austin have the most senior compensation manager openings in Texas. Dallas-Fort Worth leads because it hosts the highest concentration of corporate headquarters in the state, including financial services, retail, and logistics firms, while Houston's energy sector and medical center drive significant hiring and Austin's technology industry adds a growing share of openings.
Are there remote senior compensation manager jobs in Texas?
Yes, and more than most fields. Compensation management is largely analytical and systems-based, making it well-suited to remote and hybrid arrangements. About 40% of senior compensation manager openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting the desk-based nature of the work. Roles focused on executive compensation strategy and compensation systems administration tend to offer the most location flexibility.
How can I get hired as a senior compensation manager in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through a compensation analyst or HR generalist role at a large Texas employer. Major corporate headquarters in Dallas-Fort Worth and Houston, including large retailers, energy companies, and healthcare systems, regularly bring on analysts through HR rotational programs or direct hire pipelines. Earning the WorldatWork Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) designation early signals commitment and gives candidates a concrete edge. Moving laterally from payroll, financial analysis, or HR business partner roles is also a recognized path into compensation in Texas.
