Paralegal Jobs in Philadelphia: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a paralegal job in Philadelphia?
Focus your search on Center City law firms, corporate legal departments anchored along Market Street, and the city's large hospital and university systems, which run substantial in-house legal teams. Litigation and real estate paralegal experience travel well in Philadelphia's market. Candidates who know Pennsylvania civil procedure, have e-discovery platform experience, or hold a paralegal certificate from a local program consistently move faster through the hiring process here.
Which companies hire paralegals in Philadelphia?
Companies currently hiring paralegals in Philadelphia include Morgan Lewis, Comcast, and HHM Hotels, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Philadelphia's hiring mix leans heavily toward large regional law firms, insurance carriers with legal operations, and major health systems with compliance and contracting teams.
Are there remote paralegal jobs in Philadelphia?
Yes, though remote availability depends heavily on practice area. Court-filing, deposition support, and in-person client work remain largely on-site, while document review, contract management, and compliance roles are more likely to be flexible. About 63% of paralegal openings tied to Philadelphia are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, and corporate and insurance legal departments in the area tend to offer the most hybrid arrangements.
How can I get a paralegal job in Philadelphia with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Philadelphia is a legal secretary or file clerk role inside a Center City firm, which converts to a paralegal title once you demonstrate substantive skills. Philadelphia's large insurance carriers and hospital legal teams also hire legal assistants with an eye toward promoting from within. A paralegal certificate from a local program, familiarity with Pennsylvania court filing systems, and any volunteer legal aid experience with organizations like Philadelphia Legal Assistance help candidates stand out early.
