​​The Pennsylvania Governor’s Office of General Counsel (OGC) seeks an attorney to serve as Assistant Counsel in the Office of Chief Counsel (OCC) at the Department of General Services (DGS) in the OCC’s Government Operations Unit. This position will be classified as an Attorney 1 or 2 depending on the level of relevant experience possessed by the successful applicant. While based at the DGS OCC offices in Harrisburg, this position is eligible for a hybrid remote/in-office schedule of three days in-office per week, at the discretion of the General Counsel.​

What You’ll Do

​​This is an opportunity to join a fast-paced and sophisticated legal practice supporting DGS, which manages many of the Commonwealth's core business functions, including public procurement, construction, real estate, facilities, and fleet operations. Attorneys in the DGS OCC handle significant litigation and advise on legal issues affecting major public projects, statewide procurement, and critical government operations across Pennsylvania.​

Who We’re Looking For

​​The DGS OCC is seeking an attorney with strong litigation skills, sound legal judgment, and the ability to develop and execute effective legal strategies in complex and consequential matters. The position requires experience drafting pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents; managing written discovery; conducting and defending depositions; interviewing witnesses; evaluating evidence; and representing the Commonwealth's interests throughout all stages of litigation. The successful candidate must also be able to provide practical, strategic legal advice on matters that may give rise to litigation and work collaboratively with program staff, agency leadership, and attorneys across OGC. ​

Required Qualifications

Applicants Must:

• Hold a Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school
• Be admitted to the Pennsylvania Bar in good standing
