Entry Level Patient Service Representative Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level patient service representative job?
Employers hiring at the entry level look for strong communication skills, comfort with medical scheduling software, and experience handling patients or customers, even from retail or hospitality roles. Highlighting any internship, volunteer work at a clinic, or coursework in healthcare administration gives you a real edge. A professional phone manner and familiarity with insurance verification basics also stand out at this stage.
Which companies hire entry level patient service representatives?
Companies hiring entry level patient service representatives right now include Portage Hospital, R1 Rcm, and R1 RCM, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Hiring at this level comes primarily from hospital systems, outpatient clinics, and medical group practices that build their front-office teams with junior candidates they can train on their specific workflows.
Are there remote entry level patient service representative jobs?
Yes, though most openings at this level are on-site given the patient-facing nature of the work. About 0% of entry level patient service representative openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, and those tend to be telephone triage, insurance coordination, or virtual check-in roles that do not require a physical front desk presence.
Are these new grad patient service representative jobs?
Yes, the listings here include new grad, recent graduate, and junior patient service representative roles. A posting is new-grad friendly when it welcomes zero to two years of experience, counts internships or clinical volunteering toward that requirement, or explicitly accepts candidates who can demonstrate customer service skills in place of direct healthcare experience. Look for language like "will train" or "no experience required" as clear signals.
Which industries hire the most entry level patient service representatives?
Entry Level patient service representative roles concentrate in Healthcare & Medical Services, Technology & Software, and Education, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Those sectors drive the most hiring at this level because high patient volumes and expanding outpatient care create steady demand for front-office staff who can be onboarded and trained quickly.
