Physician Jobs in Brooklyn: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a physician job in Brooklyn?
Start by targeting Brooklyn's two largest hiring segments: hospital systems anchored in neighborhoods like Flatbush and Crown Heights, and federally qualified health centers serving high-density communities in Sunset Park and Bed-Stuy. Candidates who can demonstrate experience with diverse, underserved populations stand out locally. Board certification in primary care, internal medicine, or psychiatry opens the most doors given Brooklyn's community health infrastructure.
Which companies hire physicians in Brooklyn?
Employers hiring physicians in Brooklyn right now include TEEMA, NYU Langone Health, and Medical Director Services PC, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Brooklyn's hiring landscape is anchored by large academic medical centers, safety-net hospital systems, and a dense network of community health organizations spread across the borough's distinct neighborhoods.
Are there remote physician jobs in Brooklyn?
Yes, though remote physician roles are rare by nature given that most positions require direct patient care. About 14% of physician openings tied to Brooklyn are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, primarily in telehealth panels and utilization review. Psychiatry and chronic disease management roles within Brooklyn's health systems carry the highest share of hybrid or remote flexibility.
How can I get a physician job in Brooklyn with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Brooklyn is a residency or fellowship at one of the borough's teaching hospitals, which feed directly into attending roles across primary care and specialty practices. Federally qualified health centers in Sunset Park and Brownsville regularly recruit physicians completing training who want immediate patient volume and community-focused work. Demonstrating Spanish or Mandarin language ability adds a real competitive edge given Brooklyn's diverse patient population.
