Entry Level Podiatrist Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level podiatrist job?
Complete your DPM degree and residency requirements, then focus on clinical rotations that demonstrate hands-on patient care experience. Employers at this level look for candidates who can show competency in foot and ankle assessment, wound care basics, and familiarity with practice management software. A strong letter of recommendation from a supervising attending and documented case exposure give new applicants a clear edge over those with only coursework.
Which companies hire entry level podiatrists?
Companies hiring entry level podiatrists right now include Essen Health Care, Optum, and Deaconess Health System, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. At the entry level, hiring tends to come from private podiatry group practices, hospital outpatient departments, federally qualified health centers, and multi-specialty clinics that have the patient volume to onboard and train a new graduate.
Are there remote entry level podiatrist jobs?
Yes, though remote opportunities are limited for a hands-on clinical role like podiatry. About 0% of entry level podiatrist openings are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, and those positions typically involve telehealth consultations, care coordination, or administrative clinical roles rather than direct procedural work. Most entry level podiatrists start in on-site settings to build their clinical skills.
Are these new grad podiatrist jobs?
Yes. This page includes new grad, recent graduate, and junior podiatrist roles alongside all entry level postings. A new grad friendly listing typically welcomes zero to two years of experience, accepts residency or supervised clinical hours in place of independent practice time, and does not require board certification beyond standard DPM licensure. Look for postings that mention mentorship, supervision, or training programs as signals the employer is set up to support a new grad.
Which industries hire the most entry level podiatrists?
Entry Level podiatrist roles concentrate in Healthcare & Medical Services and Consulting & Professional Services, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. These sectors drive entry level hiring because they operate the high patient volumes and structured clinical environments that make it practical to bring on and develop a podiatrist who is early in their career.
