Portfolio Management Analyst Jobs in Georgia: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a portfolio management analyst in Georgia?
The standard path into portfolio management analyst roles in Georgia starts with a bachelor's degree in finance, economics, accounting, or a related field, followed by passing at least one level of the CFA exam to signal serious commitment to employers. Georgia does not issue a state license specific to portfolio management analysts, but most Atlanta-area asset managers and banks expect either CFA candidacy or a FINRA Series 65 registration for roles involving investment advice. Building experience through internships at Georgia-based investment firms, bank trust departments, or insurance companies is the most direct route.
How much do portfolio management analysts make in Georgia?
Portfolio management analysts in Georgia earn a median of about $99,420 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $66,140 for the lowest 10% to over $167,700 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire portfolio management analysts in Georgia?
Employers hiring portfolio management analysts in Georgia right now include BD, BlackRock, and Metas Solutions, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of October 2026. Georgia's deep concentration of insurance carriers, regional banks, and asset managers headquartered in and around Atlanta means demand from established institutional employers is relatively steady throughout the year.
Which Georgia cities have the most portfolio management analyst jobs?
Atlanta, Alpharetta, and Augusta have the most portfolio management analyst openings in Georgia. Atlanta dominates due to its dense cluster of asset managers, bank trust departments, and insurance company investment divisions, while Alpharetta benefits from a large financial technology and wealth management corridor along the GA-400 corridor, and Savannah draws openings tied to port-adjacent corporate treasury and logistics finance functions.
Are there remote portfolio management analyst jobs in Georgia?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 75% of portfolio management analyst openings tied to Georgia are remote or hybrid as of October 2026, reflecting the desk-based and data-driven nature of the work. The tasks most commonly performed remotely include performance reporting, quantitative modeling, and client portfolio reviews, while trading-desk-adjacent roles and positions requiring direct access to Bloomberg terminals tend to require in-office presence.
How can I get hired as a portfolio management analyst in Georgia with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is targeting investment operations or portfolio analyst associate roles at Atlanta-based asset managers, bank trust departments, or insurance company investment divisions, which routinely hire candidates without direct portfolio management experience. Firms like Invesco and Truist run structured new-graduate and rotational analyst programs that place candidates across investment functions. A completed Level I CFA exam, a FINRA Series 65 registration, or a financial modeling certificate significantly strengthens a Georgia application with no prior experience, as does lateral movement from adjacent roles in financial reporting, risk analysis, or brokerage operations.
Where can I find and apply to portfolio management analyst jobs in Georgia?
You can find and apply to portfolio management analyst jobs in Georgia on Migrate Mate, which lists current Georgia openings from employers actively hiring right now. Search the available roles, find one that matches your background and target location, and apply directly through the listing.
