About The Role
Crunchyroll is hiring a Principal Solutions Architect, Enterprise Technology to serve as the principal technical steward for our financial systems platform. In this senior individual contributor role, you will define the long-term solution architecture vision and own the engineering approach for data flows and platform capabilities that enable accurate, auditable financial reporting and resilient operations. You will create and govern the platform roadmap, architecture principles, and best practices that unify how financial information moves across the business. You will influence product and finance decisions, define enterprise-wide standards and SLAs, lead vendor technical evaluation and PoCs, and represent the FinTech platform with senior Finance and Technology leaders. In the role of Principal Solutions Architect, Enterprise Technology, you will report to the VP, Enterprise Technology. What You’ll Do:
- Define and own solution architecture and data flows for finance systems, including schema/contract rules (transaction grain, idempotency, partitioning).
- Build a validation system that enforces accounting rules, detects errors, records audit trails, and flags/escalates issues so financials stay accurate and audit ready.
- Architect event and batch processing and JE generation to ensure financial correctness. Enforce ordered processing and idempotency - and ensure reliable GL/ERP posting.
- Set non functional targets and operational requirements: throughput, latency, resiliency, multi-region reliability and scalability.
- Embed security and compliance into designs.
- Lead vendor technical evaluations and PoCs, contribute to build vs buy decisions, and choose platforms based on TCO, compliance and operational risk.
- Partner with Finance, Product, Systems Transformation, Legal, Data and SRE to translate accounting and business requirements into technical specs; prioritize FinTech roadmap; set SLAs, reconciliation rules and success metrics; validate designs and integrations.
A plus if you have:
- Strong NetSuite / Oracle / SAP GL posting and reconciliation experience.
- Experience integrating with RevRec/subledger products (Zuora Revenue, Oracle Revenue Management, SAP Revenue Accounting).
- Background in SRE/observability for financial systems.
- Experience delivering SOX-ready systems and audit evidence.
About You
We get excited about candidates, like you, because...
- You have 15+ years building financial, accounting, or event-driven systems; 6+ years as an architect or technical lead.
- You have experience owning solution architecture end-to-end and define governance and standards.
- You have practical knowledge of revenue recognition (ASC 606 / IFRS 15) and how to implement it in software.
- You have experience embedding controls, immutable audit trails and SOX evidence in software.
- You have experience in ledger/subledger modeling, JE generation and ERP/GL integration.
- You have experience in observability and SRE practices for business critical systems.
- You have experience working crossfunctionally with teams like Finance, Product and Engineering.

The typical path starts with a computer science or engineering degree, followed by years of progressive experience in systems design or enterprise IT. Employers in Texas specifically value cloud platform certifications like AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional or Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert, along with demonstrated experience leading architecture decisions at a large organization.
How much do principal solution architects make in Texas?
Principal solution architects in Texas earn a median of about $133,310 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $70,110 for the lowest 10% to over $191,800 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire principal solution architects in Texas?
Employers hiring principal solution architects in Texas right now include Bain & Company, CVS Health, and PepsiCo, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Texas's concentration of Fortune 500 headquarters, major defense contractors, and large financial services firms means demand for this role remains consistent across multiple industries throughout the year.
Which Texas cities have the most principal solution architect jobs?
Austin, Dallas, and Houston have the most principal solution architect openings in Texas. Austin's dense technology sector and corporate campus expansions drive the bulk of those postings, while Dallas benefits from a high concentration of financial services headquarters and major cloud providers' regional offices, and Houston's energy and healthcare enterprise IT spend sustains steady demand there as well.

Yes, and more than most fields. About 62% of principal solution architect openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting how much of the work centers on architecture review, documentation, and stakeholder presentations rather than on-site infrastructure. The portions of the role most often performed fully remote are design sessions, vendor evaluations, and technical roadmap planning.
How can I get hired as a principal solution architect in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry point is a solutions engineer or senior systems engineer role at a large Texas technology employer, then building toward principal through internal promotions.
