About Texas EcoGrow
Texas EcoGrow (TEG) is a commercial landscaping and grounds maintenance company serving HOA communities, master-planned developments, and commercial properties across Austin, San Antonio, and Central Texas. Our tagline says it simply: We Build It. We Maintain It. We Stand Behind It. We're PE-backed by NextGen Growth Partners, expanded into San Antonio in early 2026 and poised for expansion to other Texas markets.
The Role
The HR Associate at TEG is two roles in one — and the right candidate is genuinely strong at both.
First, you're a master recruiter. You build and run the funnel for crew labor (production managers, crew leaders, laborers) and screen office and leadership hires with a high bar. You don't pass mediocre candidates through. You improve our hiring playbook over time — better job posts, better screening questions, better referral programs, better time-to-hire.
Second, you're technically fluent and operationally precise. You own the logistical machine that turns a signed offer into a productive employee on day one — laptop ordered, email set up, MFA configured, software allocated, Aspire and ComputerEase access provisioned, I-9 and W-4 complete, benefits enrolled, vehicle assigned, keys issued. You also keep that machine running for existing employees: password resets, employee changes, personnel file accuracy, OSHA logging, and the H2B visa program.
This role is based in our Round Rock office five days a week and reports to the VP of Finance & Admin. It's a backfill for a teammate who is an extraordinary owner and committed teammate — they are simply better suited to a different role and is committed to a thorough handoff. We're committed to finding the right person to take this multi-faceted role and run with it.
What You'll Own
Recruiting & Hiring Funnel:
- Develop and post job descriptions across roles (crew labor, office, leadership)
- Build and maintain a steady crew-labor pipeline — referral programs, community partnerships, bilingual sourcing, repeatable funnels
- Screen candidates, schedule interviews, run background and reference checks
- Hold a high bar — your job isn't to fill seats, it's to find the right people
- Continuously improve our hiring processes, time-to-hire, and quality of hire
Onboarding & IT Setup:
- Order laptops and devices for new hires; set up email, MFA, and password access
- Provision software access by role and group (Aspire, Pipedrive, Mosyle, etc.)
- Set up new employees in Aspire so they can log hours, and in ComputerEase
- Complete I-9 and W-4 documentation
- Match vehicles to drivers and manage vehicle key organization
- Run new-hire onboarding logistics end-to-end so day one feels smooth and professional
Personnel Files & Compliance:
- Maintain accuracy and confidentiality of personnel files
- Update files for promotions, role changes, comp changes, and terminations
- Maintain OSHA logs and injury documentation (Concentra coordination)
- Create and update employee procedures and the handbook
H2B Visa Program:
- Manage the H2B program end-to-end: engage with employees, legal staff and foreign coordinators
- Track timelines, documentation, and compliance
Benefits, Trainings & Safety:
- Execute benefits administration (enrollment, changes, vendor coordination) — decisions sit with leadership
- Coordinate departmental trainings and evaluations
- Career development plan execution and accountability chart maintenance
Office & Asset Management:
- Office supplies for both Round Rock and San Antonio locations
- Coordinate ongoing IT support for password management, MFA, and employee changes
Offboarding:
- Run clean exit interviews, return-of-property processes, and access deprovisioning
- Update personnel files and ensure nothing falls through the cracks
What We're Looking For
- 4–7 years in HR, recruiting, or people operations — 2 of those years in a meaningful recruiting capacity
- Proven recruiter — you've built funnels, held high standards, and can talk specifically about how you improved time-to-hire or quality of hire in a past role
- Technical fluency — comfortable setting up laptops, email, MFA, and software access without needing IT to walk you through it; experience with MDM tools (Mosyle or similar) a plus
- Fully bilingual in English and Spanish — required for crew-labor recruiting, H2B coordination, and day-to-day with our workforce
- Maturity and discretion — personnel files, comp data, and employee concerns require absolute confidentiality
- Operational precision — checklists, documentation, follow-through; you don't drop balls
- Process improvement mindset — you've taken broken or messy processes and made them better
- High attention to detail and strong written communication
- Embodies our three core values: a committed teammate, an extreme owner, and someone committed to continuous improvement
- Authorized to work in the U.S. and willing to work on-site in Round Rock five days a week
Preferred
- Experience recruiting for field-services, landscaping, construction, or skilled-trade labor
- Familiarity with Aspire, ComputerEase, Paychex, Pipedrive, or Mosyle
- Prior H2B visa program experience
- PHR, SHRM-CP, or equivalent certification
- Exposure to PE-backed or high-growth environments

Human Resources Associate Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a human resources associate in Texas?
Most Texas employers require a bachelor's degree in human resources, business, or a related field, though some accept an associate degree combined with relevant work experience. Texas has no state-issued license for HR roles, but earning the SHRM-CP or PHR certification through the HR Certification Institute substantially strengthens your candidacy. Many candidates start in administrative or payroll support roles within Texas companies before stepping into a dedicated HR associate position.
How much do human resources associates make in Texas?
Human resources associates in Texas earn a median of about $47,540 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $32,180 for the lowest 10% to over $64,940 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire human resources associates in Texas?
Employers hiring human resources associates in Texas right now include Walmart, Baylor Scott & White Health, and Kipp Nashville, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Texas's concentration of Fortune 500 headquarters, large healthcare networks, and energy companies creates consistent year-round demand for HR support professionals across the state.
Which Texas cities have the most human resources associate jobs?
Houston, Dallas, and Austin have the most human resources associate openings in Texas. Dallas-Fort Worth's deep concentration of corporate headquarters drives the largest share of postings, while Houston's energy, healthcare, and logistics sectors generate steady demand, and Austin's rapidly growing technology and government employer base continues to add HR roles at a consistent pace.
Are there remote human resources associate jobs in Texas?
Yes, and they are more common than in many fields because much of the work, including employee communications, HRIS data entry, and benefits coordination, can be done from a desk. About 12% of human resources associate openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting the administrative nature of many HR associate functions. Roles involving in-person onboarding, employee relations investigations, or new-hire orientations tend to remain on-site.
How can I get hired as a human resources associate in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying for HR coordinator or HR assistant roles at large Texas employers such as major hospital systems, retail chains headquartered in the DFW area, or state agencies that regularly hire HR support staff without requiring prior HR-specific experience. Completing a SHRM student membership and its associated learning resources, or earning an entry-level SHRM-CP credential, gives candidates a concrete edge. Administrative, payroll, or recruiting coordination roles at Texas staffing firms are also a well-worn lateral move into HR associate positions.
Where can I find and apply to human resources associate jobs in Texas?
You can find and apply to human resources associate jobs in Texas on Migrate Mate, which lists current Texas openings updated regularly. Search the listings, find roles that match your background and location, and apply directly to the employers posting them.
