Business Intelligence Manager Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a business intelligence manager in Texas?
Most business intelligence manager roles in Texas require a bachelor's degree in information systems, business, computer science, or a related field, though many employers prefer candidates with a master's or an MBA with an analytics concentration. There is no state-issued license for this role in Texas. Hiring managers at Texas companies typically look for several years of BI analyst experience, demonstrated leadership, and certifications from platform vendors such as Microsoft or Tableau as a practical differentiator.
How much do business intelligence managers make in Texas?
Business intelligence managers in Texas earn a median of about $122,090 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $64,540 for the lowest 10% to over $170,780 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire business intelligence managers in Texas?
Employers hiring business intelligence managers in Texas right now include Humana, Amazon, and Apple, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Texas's concentration of energy majors, large financial institutions, and technology firms means demand is distributed across multiple industries rather than any single sector.
Which Texas cities have the most business intelligence manager jobs?
Dallas, Houston, and Austin have the most business intelligence manager openings in Texas. Houston's energy and healthcare sectors, Dallas's financial services and corporate headquarters concentration, and Austin's fast-growing technology and SaaS industry each generate consistent demand for BI leadership, making those three metros the primary targets for candidates in this field.
Are there remote business intelligence manager jobs in Texas?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 35% of business intelligence manager openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting how fully desk-based and platform-driven this work is. Strategic and reporting functions tend to be the most remote-friendly, while roles requiring close collaboration with on-site operations teams or executive leadership more often require a hybrid schedule.
How can I get hired as a business intelligence manager in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving into a BI analyst role first, then building toward management. Large Texas employers in energy, healthcare, and finance, including hospital systems in the Texas Medical Center and major Dallas-area financial firms, regularly hire entry-level data analysts and offer internal promotion tracks into BI management. Earning a vendor certification in Power BI or Tableau and building a portfolio of dashboard projects strengthens a candidacy considerably before applying to manager-level postings.
Where can I find and apply to business intelligence manager jobs in Texas?
You can find and apply to business intelligence manager jobs in Texas on Migrate Mate, which lists current Texas openings across industries and metros. Find roles that fit your experience and apply directly from each listing.
