Business Intelligence Manager Jobs in New York: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a business intelligence manager in New York?
There is no state-issued license required to work as a business intelligence manager in New York. Most hiring managers expect a bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as data science, computer science, or statistics, and several years of BI or analytics experience before moving into management. New York employers in finance and healthcare frequently prefer candidates who also hold a master's degree or an industry credential such as a Certified Business Intelligence Professional designation.
How much do business intelligence managers make in New York?
Business intelligence managers in New York earn a median of about $130,460 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $73,330 for the lowest 10% to over $214,080 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire business intelligence managers in New York?
Employers hiring business intelligence managers in New York right now include EY, Hunter Douglas, and Okta, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. New York's dense concentration of financial institutions, insurance carriers, and media companies means that BI manager roles here are often tied to high-volume transactional data and large, established analytics functions.
Which New York cities have the most business intelligence manager jobs?
New York, Atlanta, and Brooklyn have the most business intelligence manager openings in New York. New York City dominates the distribution because the country's largest financial, media, and healthcare organizations are headquartered or regionally anchored there, while Albany and Buffalo draw openings from state government agencies, insurance companies, and regional hospital networks that maintain their own data and analytics teams.
Are there remote business intelligence manager jobs in New York?
Yes, and more than most fields. Business intelligence manager work is largely analytical and platform-based, making it well suited to remote arrangements. About 61% of business intelligence manager openings tied to New York are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting how broadly New York employers have adopted flexible work for senior analytics roles. Strategy, reporting development, and dashboard oversight tend to be the most remote-friendly parts of the job.
How can I get hired as a business intelligence manager in New York with little or no experience?
The most realistic path is to start as a BI analyst or data analyst at a large New York employer and build toward a manager role from within. Financial services firms, hospital systems such as NewYork-Presbyterian, and major media companies all hire junior analysts and often promote from their own pipelines. Building a portfolio of dashboards, earning a Power BI or Tableau certification, and taking on project-lead responsibilities in your current role are the credentials New York hiring managers look for before extending a management offer.
Where can I find and apply to business intelligence manager jobs in New York?
You can find and apply to business intelligence manager jobs in New York on Migrate Mate, which lists current New York openings updated regularly. Search the listings, find the roles that fit your experience and location, and apply directly to each one without needing to create a profile.
