Mid Level Procurement Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a mid level procurement job?
Highlight ownership: applications that show you managed a sourcing cycle, led vendor negotiations, or reduced costs on a specific contract stand out at this level. Tailor your resume to the category the employer buys in, whether that is direct materials, IT, or services. Certifications like CPSM or CSCP signal commitment and help you clear applicant tracking systems faster.
Which companies hire mid level procurements?
Companies hiring mid level procurements right now include Amazon, Clayco, and LANXESS, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Hiring at this level is broad, running from large manufacturers and retailers managing complex supply chains to healthcare systems, government contractors, and technology firms with active vendor programs.
Are there remote mid level procurement jobs?
Yes, and the share is meaningful for an operations-adjacent function. About 33% of mid level procurement openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, concentrated in categories like IT procurement and indirect spend where supplier relationships can be managed digitally. Roles tied to warehouse receiving or direct materials production tend to stay on-site.
How do I move up to a mid level procurement role?
The path from entry level to mid level in procurement is built on measurable ownership over time. Professionals who progress fastest take on full sourcing cycles early, quantify savings or efficiency gains in their resumes, and develop expertise in a specific spend category. Earning a recognized certification and volunteering to lead a cross-functional project signals readiness for mid level responsibility to hiring managers.
Which industries hire the most mid level procurements?
Mid Level procurement roles concentrate in Technology & Software, Manufacturing, and Consulting & Professional Services, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. These sectors drive hiring at this level because their supplier networks are large enough to require dedicated category managers and experienced negotiators who can operate with limited day-to-day supervision.
