Responsible for carrier bid events, procurement analytics, capacity planning, scenario modeling, and freight market intelligence to secure competitive transportation capacity while delivering sustainable cost savings and service improvements across the inbound freight network.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Domestic and Global carrier sourcing initiatives, transportation RFPs, and bid events to secure reliable and cost-effective capacity.
- Develop and execute freight procurement strategies that align capacity needs with H-E-B's growing managed freight network.
- Analyze carrier performance, market conditions, and transportation spend to identify cost-saving opportunities and network improvements.
- Manage carrier sourcing platforms and procurement systems to support strategic bidding and carrier selection processes.
- Conduct procurement analyses, scenario modeling, and cost-benefit evaluations to support sourcing recommendations.
- Evaluate freight market trends, capacity conditions, and rate movements to inform procurement decisions and carrier strategies.
- Support the development of strategic carrier portfolios that balance cost, capacity, service, and network flexibility.
- Partner with Carrier Management, Inbound Logistics, Supply Chain Optimization, and Finance teams to drive transportation savings and service improvements.
- Develop executive reporting and recommendations related to carrier sourcing, procurement performance, and transportation cost optimization.

Work Experience:
- 5+ years total professional experience with at least 3 years in transportation, logistics, freight procurement, carrier management, or supply chain functions.
- Experience managing transportation sourcing events, carrier procurement activities, contract negotiations, or transportation optimization initiatives preferred.
- Experience performing data analysis, scenario modeling, financial evaluation, and KPI development to support business decision-making.
- Experience developing and influencing strategic vision, business cases, and organizational initiatives across multiple stakeholder groups.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams and driving alignment among operations, procurement, supply chain, technology, finance, and supplier/carrier stakeholders.
- Strong program and project management experience, including planning, organizing, coordinating, and executing complex cross-functional initiatives from strategy through implementation.
