Product Security Engineer Jobs in Colorado: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a product security engineer in Colorado?
The concrete path in Colorado starts with a bachelor's degree in computer science, cybersecurity, or electrical engineering. Colorado has no state-issued license for this role, so employers rely on industry certifications like CISSP or CSSLP alongside demonstrated technical skills. Building a portfolio of threat models, CTF participation, or open-source contributions strengthens candidacy. Many Colorado employers, especially defense contractors in Colorado Springs, also require or prefer candidates eligible for a federal security clearance.
Which companies hire product security engineers in Colorado?
Colorado product security engineer roles are posted by Keysight Technologies, spire, and Google and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Colorado's dense cluster of aerospace primes, cloud-services companies, and fintech firms in the Denver-Boulder corridor makes it one of the more active states for this role.
Which Colorado cities have the most product security engineer jobs?
Boulder, Fort Collins, and Loveland lead Colorado for product security engineer openings. Denver's concentration of fintech firms, cloud providers, and enterprise software companies drives the bulk of hiring, Colorado Springs pulls in volume from its large defense and government contracting base, and Boulder attracts openings tied to cybersecurity-focused startups and the research institutions anchored there.
Are there remote product security engineer jobs in Colorado?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 100% of product security engineer openings tied to Colorado are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how much of this work centers on code review, architecture analysis, and tooling rather than physical lab access. The roles most likely to require on-site presence are those tied to classified defense programs or hardware security labs in Colorado Springs.
How can I get hired as a product security engineer in Colorado with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is transitioning from a software engineering or IT role into a junior security position. Colorado defense contractors like Lockheed Martin and Raytheon run early-career programs and sometimes fund clearance sponsorship for new graduates from universities such as CU Boulder or Colorado State. Earning the CompTIA Security+ or pursuing a CSSLP associate track builds credibility quickly. Open-source security contributions and documented CTF results also substitute effectively for formal work history when applying to Denver-area tech employers.
Where can I find and apply to product security engineer jobs in Colorado?
Migrate Mate lists current product security engineer openings in Colorado in one place. Search the roles available, find the ones that match your experience and location preference, and apply directly to whichever ones fit.
