Program Development Manager Jobs in Atlanta: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a program development manager job in Atlanta?
Focus your search on Atlanta's three strongest hiring sectors: healthcare systems anchored in the Midtown medical corridor, technology firms concentrated around Buckhead and the Atlanta Tech Village ecosystem, and the city's large nonprofit community. Candidates who can demonstrate cross-functional project ownership and stakeholder alignment tend to stand out. Tailoring your experience to an employer's specific program portfolio, whether clinical, community, or enterprise, gives you a concrete edge in Atlanta's market.
Which companies hire program development managers in Atlanta?
Companies currently hiring program development managers in Atlanta include QTS, Delta Air Lines, and Google, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Atlanta's employer mix skews toward large health systems, Fortune 500 corporations headquartered in the metro area, and a growing cluster of mission-driven nonprofits, all of which maintain active program development functions.
Are there remote program development manager jobs in Atlanta?
Yes, though availability depends on the role's focus: analytical and grant-focused program development work tends to be remote-friendly, while positions tied to community outreach or facilities management are usually on-site. About 38% of program development manager openings tied to Atlanta are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting a market where hybrid scheduling is increasingly standard. Strategy and reporting duties are the functions most commonly performed remotely in Atlanta-based roles.
How can I get a program development manager job in Atlanta with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Atlanta is through program coordinator or program associate roles at the city's large nonprofit organizations, health systems, or workforce development agencies such as those operating under Atlanta's workforce board ecosystem. These positions build the grant management, stakeholder communication, and program evaluation skills employers expect at the manager level. Volunteering with Atlanta-based community organizations or completing a relevant project management certification also strengthens a candidacy for junior-track program roles in the city.
Which industries hire the most program development managers in Atlanta?
The sectors hiring the most program development managers in Atlanta are Technology & Software, Construction & Real Estate, and Consulting & Professional Services, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Atlanta's role as a regional hub for healthcare delivery, corporate headquarters, and federally funded community development programs creates sustained, year-round demand across all three of those sectors.
