Program Manager Jobs in Jacksonville: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a program manager job in Jacksonville?
Focus your search on Jacksonville's defense and government contracting firms near NAS Jacksonville, the large healthcare networks in Southside, and the financial services and insurance companies concentrated Downtown and in Deerwood. Candidates with PMP certification, experience managing cross-functional teams, and a background aligned to one of those sectors move fastest in this market. Tailoring your resume to the specific industry vertical gives you a clear edge over generalist applicants.
Which companies hire program managers in Jacksonville?
Companies currently hiring program managers in Jacksonville include Florida State College at Jacksonville, RS&H, and Wabtec, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Jacksonville's mix of defense contractors, regional health systems, and Fortune 500 back-office operations means hiring is distributed across several distinct employer types rather than concentrated in a single sector.
Are there remote program manager jobs in Jacksonville?
Yes, though availability depends heavily on the role: program managers overseeing on-site operations or defense contracts typically work in person, while those in software delivery, financial services, and analytics skew more remote-friendly. About 0% of program manager openings tied to Jacksonville are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, with the highest share coming from technology and insurance employers. The logistics and defense sectors remain predominantly on-site.
How can I get a program manager job in Jacksonville with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Jacksonville is through project coordinator or operations analyst roles at the city's large healthcare systems or financial services back offices, where internal promotion to program manager is common. Jacksonville's defense contractors also hire associate program managers with relevant technical or military backgrounds. Building PMP exam eligibility through volunteer project work, earning a CAPM certification, and connecting with the local PMI Northeast Florida chapter accelerates the transition significantly.
Which industries hire the most program managers in Jacksonville?
Most program manager openings in Jacksonville sit in Automotive, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Jacksonville's role as a regional hub for Naval Air Station operations, a major healthcare corridor anchored by large hospital systems, and a growing center for insurance and financial services back-office work drives sustained demand across all three sectors.
