Program Manager Jobs in New Hampshire: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a program manager in New Hampshire?
New Hampshire does not require a state-issued license to work as a program manager, so the path runs through education and professional certification. Most employers expect a bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a related field paired with the Project Management Professional certification administered by the Project Management Institute. Candidates targeting defense or government contractors in southern New Hampshire should also look at obtaining a security clearance, which those employers frequently list as a requirement.
Which companies hire program managers in New Hampshire?
Companies currently hiring program managers in New Hampshire include BAE Systems USA, Amphenol, and Dartmouth College, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. New Hampshire's concentration of defense contractors in the Nashua and Manchester corridor, alongside healthcare systems and technology firms, means program manager openings appear across a broad range of industries throughout the state.
Which New Hampshire cities have the most program manager jobs?
Nashua, Merrimack, and Hudson account for the most program manager openings in New Hampshire. Manchester and Nashua drive the bulk of postings because of the dense cluster of defense contractors, IT firms, and corporate offices in the southern tier, while Concord adds volume through state government agencies, healthcare administration, and insurance operations headquartered in the capital.
Are there remote program manager jobs in New Hampshire?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 67% of program manager openings tied to New Hampshire are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting how much of the role involves coordination, planning, and stakeholder communication rather than hands-on site work. Fully remote openings are most common in IT program management and software delivery roles, while defense and construction program managers are more likely to require on-site presence.
How can I get hired as a program manager in New Hampshire with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving into program coordination or project coordinator roles at New Hampshire employers before stepping up to full program management. Dartmouth Health and other large healthcare systems in the state regularly bring on project coordinators within their operations and IT departments. Defense contractors in Nashua such as BAE Systems often hire through internal rotational or associate program tracks. Completing a Certified Associate in Project Management credential before applying gives candidates a measurable edge over other entry-level applicants.
Where can I find and apply to program manager jobs in New Hampshire?
You can find and apply to program manager jobs in New Hampshire on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings across the state. Search the listings, find roles that match your background and location, and apply directly to the ones that fit.
