Project Controls Manager Jobs in Dallas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a project controls manager job in Dallas?
Target the sectors driving Dallas hiring: large-scale construction, infrastructure, oil and gas, and engineering and technology firms clustered in areas like Las Colinas, the Stemmons Corridor, and Uptown. Candidates with EVM certification, Primavera P6 proficiency, and experience on capital programs stand out locally. Networking through the DFW chapter of AACE International also opens doors with the general contractors and owner-operators hiring most actively here.
Which companies hire project controls managers in Dallas?
Companies currently hiring project controls managers in Dallas include PwC, TDIndustries, and Jobot, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Dallas's employer mix leans toward large general contractors, energy companies, and engineering consultancies managing multi-year capital programs across the region.
Are there remote project controls manager jobs in Dallas?
Yes, though with limits: project controls manager work is mostly tied to active construction sites or capital project operations, so fully remote roles are less common than in purely desk-based fields. About 14% of project controls manager openings tied to Dallas are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, typically at corporate planning, cost analysis, or program oversight levels. Field-facing and site-embedded roles remain predominantly on-site.
How can I get a project controls manager job in Dallas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Dallas is starting as a project controls analyst or cost engineer, roles that large engineering firms and general contractors in the DFW area hire at the junior level. Gaining hands-on experience with Primavera P6 or Earned Value Management through coursework or an entry-level role at a Dallas infrastructure or construction firm builds the foundation employers expect. AACE International's local chapter offers student memberships and events that connect early-career candidates directly with hiring managers.
Which industries hire the most project controls managers in Dallas?
Most project controls manager openings in Dallas sit in Consulting & Professional Services, Construction & Real Estate, and Technology & Software, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Dallas's role as a regional hub for large-scale infrastructure investment, corporate real estate development, and energy operations keeps sustained demand for project controls talent across those sectors.
