What You Will Do
- Review drawings, scopes, contracts, and project requirements with Project Managers and field leaders.
- Assist with takeoffs, estimating, supplier and subcontractor quotes, and purchase orders.
- Prepare and track RFIs, submittals, procurement logs, change orders, and project files.
- Monitor long-lead materials and coordinate deliveries with field schedules.
- Maintain meeting notes, action items, schedules, daily report review, and project progress updates.
- Help compare labor and costs with estimates; document possible scope changes.
- Support billings, punch lists, closeout records, and increasingly manage smaller projects.
Required Qualifications
- At least 2 years in commercial or industrial construction project coordination, estimating, field supervision, assistant PM, or similar work.
- Understanding of construction processes, scheduling, procurement, RFIs, submittals, and change orders.
- Ability to organize multiple assignments and maintain accurate project records.
- Read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, details, and scopes of work.
- Communicate clearly with field staff, subcontractors, suppliers, customers, and management.
- Use Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and construction software effectively.
- Hold a valid driver’s license and be able to visit local Indianapolis-area jobsites.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3–5 years in commercial or industrial construction and experience with takeoffs or cost tracking.
- Mechanical systems, process piping, equipment installation, HVAC, welding, concrete, or structural work.
- Bluebeam, Procore, Autodesk, QuickBooks, or similar tools; relevant degree is helpful but not required.
