ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Basic Job Functions:
The Project Superintendent (PS) will plan, coordinate, and supervise the field and/or administrative operations of projects. They will provide technical direction and have responsibility for the safety, costs, productivity, profitability, and overall quality of the work (including self-performed work) for the project(s). The PS will establish productivity goals and measure performance as well as schedule labor, materials, and equipment, including the work of subcontractors and may supervise one or more field superintendents. Must have significant experience working on water/waste water projects. Must be open to travel.
This position includes several 'steps', which provide for a progression of skill and experience.
- Project Superintendent I is capable of less complex projects of $20 million and under with typically 3-5 years’ experience in this position.
- Project Superintendent II is capable of medium scale projects of $20-$50 million in size with typically 5-10 years’ experience.
Key Responsibilities:

Manages field operations. Is responsible for project success, including profitability, safety, schedule, quality and customer satisfaction.

Collaborates with the Project Manager to develop the project management plan (PMP) including the project scope management plan, procurement plan, environmental plan, time management plan, financial plan, quality management and safety plans and risk management plan to ensure successful project execution. Demonstrates an understanding of the change management process.

Responsible for the development and implementation of the Project Quality Management and Safety plans according to Sundt standards as part of the project management plan (PMP).

Provides leadership and guidance to assigned project team members and subcontractors. Plans, reviews, develops and manages the project team to ensure relentless execution of the project.

Ensures work is executed according to contract terms and conditions in a profitable manner.

Develops and manages the construction plan for the successful execution of the work performed.

Prepares and updates the original CPM Project Schedule and ensures the schedule is kept current to manage the project appropriately while utilizing LEAN processes and Weekly Work Plans.

Conducts weekly coordination meetings with project teams and subcontractors and prepares daily field status reports.

Interacts effectively with owners, teams and other stakeholders to maintain a positive project environment and exceptional client experience.

Assists in the review of shop drawings, submittals, subcontract change orders and purchase orders.

Coordinates the documentation of constructability issues, potential design conflicts and clarifications with the appropriate personnel.

Responsible for the timely completion of all punch lists and develops a schedule as required by the owner for the successful start-up and commissioning of all systems.

Prevents claims, identify potential claims, quantify, document, mitigate/resolve the effects of those that do occur on a timely basis.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Four-year engineering degree or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience required.

Must have construction project and supervision experience in similar types of facilities.

Must have a thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction (technology, equipment, and methods), negotiations, engineering, cost control, scheduling, and safety.

Excellent communication, organizational, and supervisory skills are essential.
Physical Requirements

Will sit, stand or walk short distances for up to the entire duration of a shift/work day.

Occasionally will climb stairs, ladders, etc.

Will lift, push or pull objects on an occasional basis.

Required to use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry or feel objects on a frequent basis.

Must be able to comply with all safety standards and procedures.

May reach above shoulder heights and below the waist on a frequent basis.

May stoop, kneel, or bend, on an occasional basis.

Ability to wear personal protective equipment is required (including but not limited to; steel toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, hardhat, vest, etc.).

Will interact with people frequently during a shift/work day.

May use telephone, computer system, email, or other electronic devices on a limited basis to communicate with internal and external customers or vendors.

COMPENSATION
Please note that the compensation information that follows is a good faith estimate and for this position only. It is provided pursuant to the Washington Equal Pay for Equal Work Act and Equal Pay Transparency Rules for positions located in Washington. The following pay range is based on geographical market data and does not include additional incentives that can impact total compensation. Salary is commensurate with knowledge, skills, education, and overall job-related experience. Pay Range $120,000-$172,000 annually.
