This Opportunity
As our new Service & Support Technician, you will be responsible for all technical support activities for our fleet of deployed products across Washington State. Collaborating closely with our other YAG teams based in NZ – including R & D, procurement and manufacturing engineers and technicians, you will: provide support to distributors and service partners onsite, liaise with product operators to gather information, diagnose problems and track these through to solution.
As your product knowledge increases, you will be able to autonomously triage support issues and resolve issues by coordinating with the relevant (NZ based) R & D engineers.
Due to the nature of supporting deployed products within the agriculture industry and collaborating with internationally based colleagues, from time to time you may need to work outside of usual business operating hours to deliver the full responsibilities of the role and support customer requirements. Some travel may also be required.
Skills & Experiences Required
- Experience in a similar technical product support role with trouble shooting and methodical fault finding
- Experience with diesel engines and hybrid vehicles
- An entry level – intermediate level ability to interpret engineering drawings
- An ability to pick up new software and technology efficiently
- Confidence to coordinate tasks and people and to drive issue resolution
- Excellent customer service skills and communication ability (both written and verbal) as well as problem solving skills
- Ability to communicate (read and write) in Spanish
- Strong detail orientation
- A tertiary education in electrical or electro-mechanical engineering
- Experience with incident management ticketing systems and/or knowledge based systems
- Basic scripting and programming experience.
This is a permanent, full-time (40hpw) position based in Quincy, Washington State.
