Entry Level Psychologist Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level psychologist job?
Start by highlighting any supervised practicum hours, internships, or research assistantships on your resume, since hands-on clinical or research experience carries significant weight at the entry level. Tailor each application to the setting, whether community mental health, school psychology, or research, and make sure your licensure status or candidacy is clearly stated. A strong faculty reference and a concise cover letter explaining your theoretical orientation can also give you a meaningful edge over other new graduates.
Which companies hire entry level psychologists?
Companies hiring entry level psychologists right now include LifeStance Health, US Department of Veterans Affairs, and Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. At this level, hiring tends to come from community mental health centers, hospital systems, school districts, government agencies, and research institutions that maintain active entry level pipelines for new graduates and pre-licensed candidates.
Are there remote entry level psychologist jobs?
Yes, though most entry level psychologist roles still require some in-person or on-site work, particularly those involving direct client care or supervised hours. About 31% of entry level psychologist openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, and these positions tend to be concentrated in teletherapy platforms, research roles, and assessment-focused positions that can accommodate flexible work arrangements.
Are these new grad psychologist jobs?
Yes, the listings on this page include new grad, recent graduate, and junior psychologist roles that are explicitly designed for candidates early in their careers. A new grad friendly posting typically welcomes zero to two years of experience, counts supervised internship or practicum hours toward requirements, and does not require independent licensure, making these roles the right starting point for candidates just finishing their degree.
Which industries hire the most entry level psychologists?
Entry Level psychologist roles concentrate in Healthcare & Medical Services, Education, and Consulting & Professional Services, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. These sectors drive entry level hiring because they rely on ongoing intake of pre-licensed and newly licensed practitioners to meet demand for assessment, therapy, research support, and behavioral health services at the community and institutional level.
