Entry Level QA Test Engineer Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level qa test engineer job?
Employers hiring at the entry level look for hands-on exposure to manual or automated testing, even from coursework, personal projects, or internships. Familiarity with bug-tracking tools, basic test case writing, and at least one scripting language like Python strengthens a new application. A portfolio showing real test plans or automation scripts gives candidates a concrete edge over those with only a degree on paper.
Which companies hire entry level qa test engineers?
Companies hiring entry level qa test engineers right now include Medpace, My3Tech, and Edupoint, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Hiring at this level comes from a wide range of employers, including software product companies, IT services firms, and technology-forward businesses in retail, finance, and healthcare that need dedicated testers as they scale their engineering teams.
Are there remote entry level qa test engineer jobs?
Yes, remote and hybrid roles are available at the entry level, though on-site positions remain common for new testers who benefit from closer team collaboration. About 0% of entry level qa test engineer openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, so candidates who need location flexibility have real options without limiting their search to a single metro area.
Are these new grad qa test engineer jobs?
Yes, many of the listings here are new grad and junior roles that explicitly welcome recent graduates and candidates with little or no professional experience. A new-grad-friendly posting typically accepts zero to two years of experience, counts internships or co-ops toward that requirement, and treats a testing portfolio or relevant coursework as a legitimate substitute for full-time work history.
Which industries hire the most entry level qa test engineers?
Entry Level qa test engineer roles concentrate in Healthcare & Medical Services, Biotechnology & Pharmaceuticals, and Energy, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. These sectors drive consistent hiring at the entry level because they ship software products or manage large digital systems that require structured quality assurance from dedicated testers, creating steady demand for candidates just entering the profession.
