Location: Laredo, TX (2 Temporary Positions Available, Day Shift & Night Shift)
About the role:
The Quality Assurance Inspector is responsible for ensuring that inbound and outbound products meet quality and food safety standards. This role performs product inspections, facility audits, documentation reviews, and quality assessments while supporting corrective actions to maintain compliance with company and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and experienced in fresh produce quality inspections.
- Inspect inbound and outbound fresh produce and grade product quality according to HS Quality Bulletin standards.
- Evaluate product appearance, condition, weight, temperature, and internal quality.
- Perform food safety audits and inspections of assigned facilities.
- Accurately document inspection findings, audit results, and quality records.
- Report quality and food safety deficiencies and follow through on corrective actions.
- Conduct special inspections and testing activities as required.
- Maintain organized inspection records and documentation.
- Communicate quality concerns promptly to internal stakeholders through reports and email.
- Support compliance with HACCP, SQF, USDA, and food safety requirements.
What We're Looking For
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in product quality inspection or a related field.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Experience performing quality inspections within the fresh produce industry.
- Ability to lift up to 30-pound cases.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and make objective quality decisions.
