Quality Assurance Manager Jobs in Kansas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a quality assurance manager in Kansas?
Most quality assurance manager roles in Kansas require a bachelor's degree in engineering, manufacturing technology, or a life science paired with several years of hands-on quality experience. Kansas has no state-issued license specific to this role, but earning the Certified Quality Manager or Certified Quality Engineer designation through the American Society for Quality is widely recognized by Kansas employers, particularly in Wichita's aerospace corridor and the food and beverage manufacturing sector centered around Kansas City.
How much do quality assurance managers make in Kansas?
Quality assurance managers in Kansas earn a median of about $125,750 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $82,340 for the lowest 10% to over $203,680 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire quality assurance managers in Kansas?
Employers hiring quality assurance managers in Kansas right now include Elanco, Reser's Fine Foods, and Textron Aviation, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Kansas's concentration of aerospace, defense, and food manufacturing firms means quality roles here often require industry-specific compliance knowledge such as AS9100 or FSMA standards.
Which Kansas cities have the most quality assurance manager jobs?
The cities with the most quality assurance manager openings in Kansas are Wichita, Elwood, and Olathe. Wichita leads because of its dense aerospace and defense manufacturing base anchored by companies like Spirit AeroSystems and Textron Aviation, while the Kansas City metro draws openings from food processing, pharmaceutical, and distribution operations spread across both the Kansas and Missouri sides of the metro.
Are there remote quality assurance manager jobs in Kansas?
Yes, but they're limited. Quality assurance managers frequently work on production floors, with suppliers, and inside regulated facilities, which makes full-time remote work less common in this role than in purely desk-based fields. About 20% of quality assurance manager openings tied to Kansas are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, and those positions tend to involve supplier auditing, documentation management, or quality system oversight that can be handled off-site.
How can I get hired as a quality assurance manager in Kansas with little or no experience?
The most realistic path is moving up from a quality inspector, quality technician, or production supervisor role at a Kansas manufacturer. Large employers in Wichita's aerospace sector and Kansas City's food processing industry regularly hire quality coordinators and quality engineers as feeder roles into management. Pursuing an entry-level ASQ certification such as the Certified Quality Improvement Associate and gaining exposure to ISO documentation or internal auditing significantly strengthens a candidacy before pursuing a management title.
Where can I find and apply to quality assurance manager jobs in Kansas?
You can find and apply to quality assurance manager jobs in Kansas on Migrate Mate, which lists current Kansas openings. Search the available roles, identify the ones that match your experience and target industry, and apply directly to the ones that fit.
