Product Manager Jobs in Kansas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a product manager in Kansas?
Product management in Kansas requires no state-issued license or certification, so the path runs through education and employer hiring standards. Most Kansas employers expect a bachelor's degree in business, computer science, or engineering, with an MBA valued for senior roles. Candidates who build a portfolio of shipped products or side projects, earn a Certified Product Manager credential through the Association of International Product Professionals, and gain hands-on agile experience through associate product roles move into full positions most reliably.
How much do product managers make in Kansas?
Product managers in Kansas earn a median of about $154,510 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $97,870 for the lowest 10% to over $243,790 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire product managers in Kansas?
Kansas product manager roles are posted by CVS Health, AMC Theatres, and Midas Hospitality and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Kansas's concentration of fintech, agtech, and defense-adjacent technology companies means product roles here often sit at the intersection of regulated industries and modern software delivery.
Which Kansas cities have the most product manager jobs?
Topeka, Lenexa, and Kansas account for the largest share of product manager openings in Kansas. Overland Park and Kansas City drive volume through their dense clusters of financial services firms, enterprise software companies, and logistics technology providers, while Wichita adds openings tied to its aviation manufacturing base and the regional healthcare systems that anchor its economy.
Are there remote product manager jobs in Kansas?
Yes, and more than most fields. Product management is largely a desk and communication role, making it well suited to remote and hybrid arrangements. About 92% of product manager openings tied to Kansas are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how broadly distributed product teams have become. Discovery, roadmap planning, and stakeholder alignment work are the functions most commonly done fully remotely.
How can I get hired as a product manager in Kansas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving laterally from a role that already touches the product, such as business analyst, QA engineer, project coordinator, or customer success manager, since Kansas employers like Garmin and Cerner regularly promote from those adjacent functions. Applying to associate product manager or rotational business analyst programs at large Overland Park-based firms gives candidates without experience a structured entry. Building a case study that documents a problem you solved, the decision you made, and the outcome you measured gives your application the concrete evidence Kansas hiring managers ask for.
Where can I find and apply to product manager jobs in Kansas?
