Real Estate Jobs in Nebraska: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a real estate agent in Nebraska?
You must obtain a license through the Nebraska Real Estate Commission, which requires completing state-approved pre-licensing education, passing the Nebraska real estate salesperson exam, and working under a licensed Nebraska broker. Candidates need to submit an application, pass a background check, and complete continuing education to maintain the license. The Nebraska Real Estate Commission is the governing body overseeing all licensing and renewal requirements in the state.
Which companies hire real estate agents in Nebraska?
Employers hiring real estates in Nebraska right now include HDR, The Briley Team, and RelyHome Warranty, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Nebraska's real estate market supports both large national franchises with local offices and independently owned brokerages, particularly in the Omaha and Lincoln metro areas where residential and commercial activity is highest.
Which Nebraska cities have the most real estate jobs?
The Nebraska cities with the most real estate openings are Omaha and Lincoln. Omaha drives the largest share of listings because it anchors the state's corporate headquarters, financial services sector, and residential expansion corridors, while Lincoln's role as the state capital and home to the University of Nebraska sustains steady demand for both residential sales and property management roles.
Are there remote real estate jobs in Nebraska?
Yes, but they're rare. Real estate work is fundamentally local and in-person, requiring property showings, client meetings, and on-site inspections. About 75% of real estate openings tied to Nebraska are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, and those positions tend to be in back-office or support functions such as transaction coordination, real estate marketing, or property management administration rather than active sales or brokerage roles.
How can I get hired as a real estate agent in Nebraska with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is obtaining your Nebraska salesperson license and joining a brokerage that runs a structured training program, such as the new-agent onboarding programs offered by Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Ambassador Real Estate or NP Dodge Real Estate in Omaha. Many Nebraska brokerages accept newly licensed agents as associate agents under an experienced mentor. Candidates who come from adjacent roles in mortgage lending, property management, or title work have an easier transition since they arrive with market knowledge and established client contacts.
Where can I find and apply to real estate jobs in Nebraska?
You can find and apply to real estate jobs in Nebraska on Migrate Mate, which lists current Nebraska openings across residential, commercial, and property management roles. Search the listings for roles that match your license level, specialty, and preferred market area, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
